Yup, this is the right sub.
If you are looking to change habits in your life, look up the book "The Power of Habit". I've been recommending this book a lot lately, but it will teach you valuable skills if you want to change the habits that dictate your life.

On the topic of getting over a bad relationship, I think you should read this book called Attached. You can check the summary here: http://fourminutebooks.com/attached-summary/ Make a list of all the negative sides of your ex, it will help you move on.
I think it's called reframing. I haven't tried it to actively transform negative to positive, because I mostly find myself looking for the positives from the get. Shawn Achor mentioned something called "the tetris effect" in The Happiness Advantage. People who played Tetris for several hours a day started organizing the world around them, because they trained themselves to look for things to optimize spatially. He says you can also train yourself to spot the positive things in life, for example by keeping a gratitude journal. Not sure how in-depth the study was, but you can surely find it by tracing the book further.
