This will be possible with FriendUP - a new cloud OS. Essentially, FriendUP is software that gives you a JavaScript based desktop environment that connects to the cloud. By integrating with Golem, it will give you exactly what you're talking about; A decentralized OS that leverages cloud resources to amplify your computer. The only requirements on the local machine would be the ability to run a hardware accelerated web view.
