/r/futurology is pretty swell, if you can get past the doom'n'gloom jerk about 'robots taking our jobs'. /u/Portis403 puts out awesome weekly info summaries for tech/science as well. here's the latest science one: http://www.futurism.co/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Science_Apr-19th_2015.jpg
Um, not to agree or disagree about what should make the cut, but judging by this image, I'm thinking at least twice as many things can make the space cut per week.
This is a topic I would love to have a discussion on with an expert in the field since I myself have so many questions to ask.
If you accept that a black hole contains a singularity then what you're describing isn't possible. The neutron star is gone, squished into an infinitely small point with infinite density but finite mass. As the black hole evaporates and loses mass, the event horizon recedes at an ever increasing rate, getting ever so closer to the point of singularity until the black hole radius approaches 0 and POOF the whole thing disappears in a final flash of light.
EDIT: I was going to mention the possible information loss within the black hole but I've just seen r/futurisms weekly summary which suggests maybe information isn't completely lost after all. :P Let's face it this is a topic in astronomy that's still very much in flux right now.

/u/Portis403 does a nice job, beside bitcoin events, he has a science series, for example: http://www.futurism.co/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Science_March22nd_2015.jpg
Here is a piece I whipped up a while back that defines the whole notion of the Singularity, and provides a fair amount of pro/counter arguments on the subject: http://www.futurism.co/defining-singularity-part-1-3/
I really like the idea behind these types of news summaries (especially these kind of "This Week in Science" posts)
I'm not technically inclined enough to pull this off, but I think it would be interesting to present this type of info with an option for viewpoint filters. Like a drop-down box for: republican bias, no bias, democrat bias, etc. Then people have an option to see what they want to see as well as see it how others want to see it. Maybe then common ground might be found or better supported arguments could be formed in having discussions with one another?
How is the layout of the facts going to be presented? Why is voting a part of the system?
I believe it will work like the summary of this webpage. But the main difference is each fact has a weight of its own. Why does this weight have to exist?
EDIT: Fuck I'm late, but I know the answer to this question would be interesting.
