Use Givero and choose to support one of the climate focus charities (see https://www.givero.com/organizations) and we're all able to help the world just a little bit.
Why only those 4?
https://www.givero.com - it uses Bing and is pretty much like DuckDuckGo (which also uses Bing), but the main difference is that Givero gives half of its revenue to good causes. So you support charities just by searching. How cool is that? :)
Givero is a search engine that uses Bing results. It shares its revenue with charities, so that's a good reason to dump Google for a Bing-based search engine.

Never heard of it.
We run https://www.givero.com which is a new search engine that shares its revenue with good causes of your choice. We also value your privacy, so check it out?
Why would they ban DDG? Perhaps see if you can access https://www.givero.com instead? We also respect your privacy to the extent we can. Our main purpose is to donate ad revenue from your searches to good causes though.
https://www.givero.com - which is a search engine like Google - donates 50% of its entire revenue to charities of your choice!
All you have to do is search on Givero instead of Google or Bing, and you help raise money for good causes.
I believe they do what they can to not track you. It is a matter of trust though. They *say* they don't store your IP-address, and you have to trust that. It is not verified by third parties. I do trust them though.
There's also https://www.givero.com (disclosure: I'm the founder). We don't store your IP either, but we pass it on to Microsoft, who delivers our search results (like DuckDuckGo). However, through our partnership with them, personalized ads are disabled for all users, and Microsoft promises not to use the data for anything but serve results on Givero.
Again, its a matter of trust. Would you trust Microsoft to follow their own policies? I would. Hell would break loose for them if they didn't.
Imagine if all switched to https://www.givero.com - revenue is shared with good causes of your choice, from helping children in need, creating jobs for people in extreme poverty etc.
There is also https://www.givero.com which is similar, but here you can select the charities you wish to support, including e.g. Eden Reforestation Projects, but also organizations like The Ocean Cleanup Project and 350.org.
You're still #1 on the new search engine Givero:
https://www.givero.com/da/search?q=donald+trump+reddit
Switch to that and do a little good when searching - revenue from (non-personalized!) ads are shared with charities of your choice.
Now that was about Facebook, but if it worries you that Google does the same, you can switch to https://www.givero.com and do a little good at the same time - we share our ad revenue (from non-personalized ads!) with charities of your choice.
In that case try https://www.givero.com - it is a new search engine that shares its revenue with charities of your choice, AND you can disable "personalized" results on the result page.
Ecosia is wonderful!
However, if you're not into trees and still want to do good, there is also https://www.givero.com. It is similar, but where you chose which good cause revenue from your searches is donated to.

You certainly can! Take a look at https://www.givero.com - it is the search engine that shares its revenue with charities of your choice. So you can make a difference - just by searching online. Instead of filling the pockets of Google's owners, the money goes to the common good.
Support the small search engines then :-)
https://www.givero.com - do your daily good: revenue from your searches is shared with charities of your choice.

Consider https://www.givero.com instead of DDG if you want to do a little good while searching. Revenue is shared with charities of your choice. It could be the good deed of the day :)
But givero isn't technically a privacy search engine. Here's part of its privacy policy:
>3.2 Givero Search
>Givero Search is powered by providers of third-party web search services. To display relevant search results and to prevent fraudulent activities, data is transferred to our search partners. For information on the web search services data collection, which may differ from the data collection practices described in this Privacy Policy, please visit the end user privacy statements of our 3rd party web search services providers CodeFuel and Bing. Both privacy statements are updated from time to time at our partners' discretion and at a location of their choice. From the Bing privacy policy you can visit the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard where you can opt-out of their use of your personal data.
>The following data is transferred to our search partners when you submit a search request: IP address, user agent string, search term, country and language settings, filter settings for adult content, active search filter settings (e.g. filter search results by date).
Another similar search engine that plants trees, Ecosia, has a similar privacy caveat.
DuckDuckGo is fine and so is Startpage.com.
Note that DuckDuckGo is powered mainly by Yahoo and Startpage.com is powered mainly by Google. Both have special arrangements to protect user privacy. Both also add in some other sources to power things like instant answers.
https://www.givero.com - a privacy-respecting search engine that shares its revenue with charities.
You select which good cause should benefit from your searches - together we can make an impact for climate organizations, wildlife preservation, children in need and other organizations working for the common good.

Full disclosure: I am the founder. We just launched about a month ago. Give us a try? :-)
DuckDuckGo is fine. You can also try the new https://www.givero.com if you want to support a good cause when searching. It does not create a profile of you either, nor does it sell your data.

For the Duckers here, perhaps try the new https://www.givero.com instead? It is a search engine like DuckDuckGo that shares its revenue with good causes, so you can do good just by searching - and not let Google track you at the same time.
