Personally, I would not rely either on Impress or Powerpoint for presentations. I can still remember a case well (many years ago). The lecturer arrived with a USB stick on which his Powerpoint presentation was stored. Apparently there was a different version of MS Office installed on the notebook than the one used to create the presentation. Took several hours to find the right version of Office, so the presentation had to be moved to the afternoon.
Therefore I use for the rare cases with which I must hold a presentation, only solutions which are usable without special programs. Currently I like to use Hovercraft.

So you have to create these separately? Then I' d rather stay with Hovercraft. This allows me to insert the content directly via reStructuredText and I don't need an extra tool.
