You can use Keynote. From the iWork suite instead of Microsoft Office. It's essentially the same thing. But in a world where any slideshow is called "a powerpoint", you look silly if you can't open pps/ppt files...
But hey! Keynote CAN open Powerpoint files! guess there's nothing wrong, then
Well, to be truly hipster-ish, he should use Instagram : see? all better!
EDIT : For the haters, I actually used Picnik (a online picture editor bought by Google) to do this. By the way, it gonna close mid-april and gonna be integrated into other Google products like Picasa and Google+ and in the meantime, it is in free premium mode and everybody who paid for it will get a full refund. And a pony.
You need an image editor that can handle transparency, and save in a format that supports transparency (GIF, TIFF, PNG (not JPG!)). I know Photoshop could do it, but there are some free alternatives like GIMP. If the background you want to eliminate is simply a solid color, this online tool might work.
If you want to, PM me a link to the picture and I could try to Photoshop out the background.
FINAL WORD FROM HERMES CABIN!!!!!
Well done everyone! As children of the prank god, we are very proud of everyone’s contributions to this war. We want to give a special congrats to our friends in the Athena cabin. All of you were amazing and we had fun working as a team, almost to the point where it hurt to break the alliance with you… almost.
As one final measure, during dinner this evening, the Hermes cabin failed to show up. Why? Because we turned the dining pavilion into one big trap. It is made of Celestial Bronze and no one brings weapons to dinner. While all of you enjoy your new home, the Hermes cabin is enjoying having the entire camp to themselves. The trap lasts three hour and we will be doing nothing except enjoying some alone time.
But in all seriousness, everyone did amazing. You have earned the respect of the Hermes cabin. We have had a blast this week and want to thank everyone for participating. We send all of you our love.
I would like to give credit and a special thank you to my wonderful cabin mates. Without them, none of this would have been possible.

I could not be more proud of my Hermes family. This war brought us together and I am extremely grateful. All of them are amazing pranksters, but even better people. They really made my experience at Camp Half-blood worth remembering. So thank you to the mods who made this thing official. Also thank you for putting up with our hundreds of comments and insane behavior. You deserve some recognition for that.
Here are the end credits to our siege: https://www.powtoon.com/s/bTOnAocluTV/1/m
This concludes the ever-amazing prank war. Enjoy the weekend everyone! Hermes cabin out!
I did a presentation on shoegaze for school a while back. It features footage from shoegaze documentary "Beautiful Noise".
https://www.powtoon.com/online-presentation/fN1WITjH50T/shoegaze-presentation/
This app gives the 'ken burns' effect, but the transitions and slides can be used as a presentation app. I have only used it a half dozen times or so for class projects and it got the job done.
Haha thank you, guys. It still makes me cringe to think how much of my time I spent on the picnik website editing this. Just looked it up (http://www.picnik.com/) and it shut down in 2013. The header says that the picnik is over. Wah wah.
Have a look at 'Paintshop Pro'
https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/
my SO has used it for several versions now but we haven't used Lightroom so can't give comparison. Looks like they have 30 day trials .
She uses PhotoscapeX for viewing images and folders as she likes the layout
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htjSRnhW8w0 You inspired me to search for a tool to do things like this. Made this using https://www.powtoon.com/ It looks really bad because it's 5am here and I just wanted to show what can be done with it. There's a lot of creative people out there that could do wonders with this tool, you can also save the display and change it pretty easily.
Acdsee's Photo Studio Ultimate is the only thing I've com across that attempts to combine Lightroom and Photoshop in a standalone program. $150 and you're done.
Caveat: I haven't spent any time with it personally, but it has a free trial and claims to do everything I would need.
Nice job! I can see a difference too, especially from the side (although the front and back look a bit smoother too). I use http://www.picnik.com/ to make my progress pics - you can do collages and resize at the same place, so it's terribly convenient.
Not interested in purchasing, but I've got some suggestions to help it sell.
Two of the images are not actually there, so get those back.
Retake all of the photos. Take them near that window around 10:30 or 11:00 so you have pretty strong but indirect natural light. This way you won't need to use the flash, which won't detract from the quality of your object or show crazy paint texture issues that the eye probably won't see without the high contrast of the flash.
Upload photos that are the correct side up. If you don't have photo editing software, you can rotate them online with tools like Picnik.
Post to Craigslist early and often. I know how unnerving it can be to be scammed, but since you're asking for cash and in-person pick up, there's very little chance of that. I can only imagine someone not showing up in this case.
Good luck!
Hey thanks man. The camera I used to take the picture is nothing special, it's one of those 'extremely rugged' Olympus cameras. It's more about the editing really, my friend used this website. Not sure what settings she used, all I know is that she went for a 'retro' look.
Your stuff's really cute! I do have a couple suggestions, though.
You might want to up the price a little bit. $6.50 for a handmade bracelet seems cheap. As a customer, I get the idea that if you, the seller, don't think it's worth much, it must be cheaply made. But maybe that's just me. Also, what is it about the $22 bracelet that makes it worth so much more than everything else?
Your pictures are good (something beginning Etsy sellers (including me) usually fail at) but could be better. The pictures with the white backgrounds need better lighting. I'd suggest either taking them outside, with natural light, or making a DIY Lightbox. Plus, Etsy seems to have a huge boner for pictures taken out in nature. Note: I haven't tried making a lightbox, so I don't know how well that link works. It's on my to-do list.
And one more thing- Do your items come from a smoke free/allergen free home? If they do, you should say that in your bio or your shop description or something. If not, you should also say that somewhere.
And make yourself a banner. You don't have to get fancy-I used Picnik and it worked perfectly fine.
You can use Picnik. Click the "Upload a photo" button and go to your chronos folder. Your photo should be there. When you have it open go to the "Save & Share" tab and the option to share it with Facebook should be at the top.
The only thing wrong with photography are the amateurs who don't bother learning anything about techniques, and think that cliche pictures make them good photographers. Look at step 12. My sister does that. I know plenty of people who do that. Want to know why they do that? They aren't good enough at critiquing art to know what they like best. They just think that black and white images look artsy, and aren't able to determine whether or not the picture is better in B&W or not.
Anyway, a few things that were left out of the image. Other than having part of your photo in B&W, and part in color (step 4), excessively blurring everything but one small section of a photo is another amateurish, and cliche technique.
Also, you don't need to pirate photoshop, or ever even learn how to use it. Not when you have picassa, and picnik.com.
From what I've read, I learned that each person with chromesthesia sees different colors for the same notes or chords, so whereas a song in the scale A major is only either turquoise or scarlet for me (depends on the instruments or tempo), A major may be a completely different color to another person with chromesthesia. Purple Haze, huh? Let's have a listen!
...
Let's see... Purple Haze is sepia for me, and the intensity isn't very strong because there's some "background noise," like drumming, and not enough "musical notes." (Personally, songs that have the most intense color are usually solo pieces because they're uninterrupted by percussion.) The scale is in E-flat minor, from what I can tell anyway because it may not even be a minor or major scale but instead a Myxolydian or blues scale or something weird like that. It's really an interesting song! ... And I just found out through research that yes, the song is a combination of a Myxolydian and a blues scale.
I tried your test but actual numbers says my perception is lying to me. That band on the right is RGB(0,255,150) and so is blue and green in the spiral. Grab Paint.NET (for Windows), load the image and use the to check for yourself.
Even better, just download the image to your computer, go to LunaPic, upload the image and use their colour picker, you'll see it's the same value.
I'm cheap and I refuse to pay Adobe prices. I've been using freeware called Photoscape X for many years. I really like it. For a one time fee of like $40 USD you can get the pro version which offers some extra editing tools and filters and whatnot.

As well as the FAQ, for Mac+Win there is
http://x.photoscape.org/ (free), which my mrs uses for viewing and it does editing as well,
and she uses https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/ (one-off payment and has free trial) for editing. (notice she doesn't use the same program for both)
I use a weird mish-mash of programs, but peoples brains work very differently, so it's worth trying several to see which 'clicks' with you. I use Picasa3 for viewing but it's unsupported now, so I hesitate to suggest it.
This is for PC; mobile? not a clue :-)
> Katie and orbie
This one isn't on any tracker. Given the image chosen on imdb, it seems a DVD set exist in French.
I mean, once it is not on tracker, you have to look why that might be. I see Amazon have it on VHS in English.
This claims a DVD is coming: https://www.powtoon.com/online-presentation/f3sCMbiJrpk/katie-and-orbie-new-on-dvd/
It's not on Amazon.ca... so, it is indeed a rarity you are looking for there. Only the image on imdb indicate it was released in a 5 DVD box set in French: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BNjJhNTkwM2YtMWZiNS00MmFiLTlmZjMtMWQ4NWYxOTQyZWRiXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNjExODE1MDc@.jpg
A lot of TED presenters appear to be using Apple's Keynote software.
That being said, you can do great things with Powerpoint, Keynote, or even OpenOffice Impress. You just have to put in the time and effort.
I've been using the free version of Luxea from acdsee.com. There is a free version that has a very short banner at the beginning of the video. There's a lifetime license ($79.00) and there is an annual license. So, you can have it any way you want it. It's easy to use for simple projects and as the complexity of the project goes up... well so does the complexity of using the software.
For open source, a lot of people have recommended Digikam (www.digikam.org). I haven't tried it yet because on first look, it seems too complex for me. I'm not good with image-manipulation programs, so, for example, if I want to get rid of that smudge in the middle of a photo, it would take me forever to figure it out. I'm trying out a trial version of something called ACDSee Photo Studio Professional 2020 (acdsee.com/), which is more my speed. It does cost, however, but you can get a year's license for about $60 if you buy before Aug 5, 2020. It also has subscriptions, but I can't really afford subscriptions now.
Has anyone tried either of those?
Just in case you are curious:
> From a ux standpoint it's almost impossible to be simpler?
Well... for such a basic need... indeed KDEnlive was/is overkill, so certainly it can be ( much ) simpler . This basic functionality feels more like the kind of plug-in you add to GIMP ( G'Mic for example is much more complex )... and now i think about it... maybe i didn't check if such a thing already exists.
Anyways, think i've found what i was looking for: PhotoFilmStrip .
Hard to make it even more simple. Now i need to check if the subtitle field actually shows on the slideshow.
Think i've found what i was looking for: PhotoFilmStrip .
Essentially does what 4K Slideshow do... but looks like you can add text ( need to check if it actually shows on the slideshow ) and even make simple rectangular selections and apply basic b&w / sepia tones. Looks like this could be it.
Thanks again for suggesting the app that pointed me into the right direction ;-)
Great edit, you added some decent funny clips I actually laughed at, but why is there a watermark for Created by RenderForest.com if your intro was created there
then fair enough but there are other ways to make intros without watermarks, either way great video bit short but funny!
If you don't want to download any software and want a pretty simple way to create a collage, try using picnik. They have a collage maker on that link, though I personally haven't tried it myself.
You may also try using Picnik to get that holga-ish, Lomo-ish look. It is free and easy to use. Look under effects, then camera for the holga/lomo settings.
Most of all, enjoy your camera and your photos!
May I suggest Picnik?. It's a very simple online photo tool, but if you mess around enough with things like saturation and coloring, you'll eventually be able to make a photograph look like a trippy painting. May not be what you're looking for, but it's all my knowledge of such things has to offer.
Edit: Three Examples of photos I messed with in Picnik.
Aviary has an API, although I'm not sure to what degree it fits your need: http://developers.aviary.com/
It's free under 1,000 calls, and you have to contact them for pricing over that.
edit: It looks like Picnik has an API as well: http://www.picnik.com/info/api
Try experimenting with the padding-top decriptor. Instead of padding: 25px 20px 0px 80px;
try increasing the pixel count for the first number in line (padding: 125px 20px 0px 80px;
) to see if that 'pushes' the feature down below the sponsored link's box. If it does, fine tune it by adding to or subtracting from that first number until it floats exactly where you want it. Only problem with this is the feature may end up appearing quite lost on the newest submissions queue, floating too far down without a sponsored link box to fill the empty space.
Another method is to describe a new .content {margin: 30px 7px 5px 0; z-index: 1;}
(making as much space as you need by playing with the first number) and add the banner as an image saved to the background of the subreddit's body, with padding descriptors to float it in the empty space created in the new margin descriptor, but that'd take a bit more time and effort to create - image editing software or a site like Picnik'd be needed to create the image. If you need to go that route, shoot me a PM and I'll play around with it to see what's possible.
Based on your first paragraph that didn't sound like your goal.
You can re-size them with a plethora of tools. GIMP, Photoshop, etc. There are online tools that will do this for you too (Picnik). You could also re-size them in batch using Photoshop and I believe with GIMP you can use scripts to batch change images.
This website is awesome for editing photos http://www.picnik.com/. Whats nice about this website is you can down load your pic from several different places facebook, myspace, your computer, etc. Once its downloaded click on the create tab then the text tab. That's it.
You might like PhotoFilmStrip which you can learn more about here - http://www.photofilmstrip.org/1-1-Home.html It's already in the default repos so if you want it just.... sudo apt-get install photofilmstrip I use it often for making photo slideshows and uploading them to Youtube.
PhotoScape X is the best photo editor when it comes to adding and editing and changing the look of text. To be clear, when I say best I mean "easiest to use while also giving really good looking results". In other words, there probably are some programs that may somehow look better or allow one to do even more elaborate things to the text but I have found none that is as easy while still looking good to my eye. Also, it has all the simple text stuff I think anyone would need like outlining the text or adding a drop shadow, etc.
I went through a bunch of programs as I was looking for something for a friend. In the past, I have used Photoshop but it's a lot of steps and I was afraid my friend would hate it as he isn't very computer savvy so I went on a search to find something that would be easy-to-use, etc. and for me that was PhotoScape X.
Please Note:There is a version of the program in the Windows 10 Microsoft store that will cost you money but there is a free version for Windows 10 on the official PhotoScape X website. I've been using the free version without issues on Windows 10.
I should note that I've only used static images with this program. I'm not sure if it can do animated gifs. I mostly do static pics but the few times I've added caps to animated gifs I used Photoshop (the full-blown version, not the cheaper Elements version).
EDIT:
I just checked and you can work with pre-existing animated gifs (and it appears you can create some as well). However, the text options are a lot more limited than when working with standard static images.
PhotoScape X - it’s free for Mac and pc but I paid for the extras. It’s very handy, eyes are done using 2 sphere shapes with and outer glow effect and gradient fill. The rest is layered filters :) http://x.photoscape.org/
I assume you're looking for something that is simple but highly advanced with technology. If that's the case, I recommend that you look into Photoscape X. It's downloadable through respectable OS' app stores, so you can rest assured that it's safe. This is the free version, and more advanced features can be activated through an in-app purchase of $50. This will work on unlimited PCs or Macs due to the syncing of in-app purchases.
Maybe worth a look;
https://www.paintshoppro.com/en/ Has a 30 day trial period, you can then buy for a one-off payment.
http://x.photoscape.org/ free and good for viewing images. I don't know what their editing is like.
There are also GIMP, RawTherapee and Paint.net to consider.

Currently, I'm doing 100% of my photo editing with Photoscape X. It's available on both Mac & Windows.
I've also downloaded Darktable, but for some reason the resolution on my screen and the default layout of the app is too large and I can't figure out how to fix it.

here you go. One of the links for the councilman got copyrighted so it goes green for a few seconds. Pause it on the literature as I only had 3 minutes available to make it. Also it looks like I hit the officer even though I was blocking but my record shows resisting arrest only, after 2.5 years of fighting it.
I did a bit of digging and I think they just mean ‘a Hunter with cuts on their body’.
Tune in tonight to IG Live @dgcourtroom for the #1 DFS show in the land! #1 slack and tournaments in DFS https://www.powtoon.com/online-presentation/cuP25FZWBPT/?mode=movie
See everyone tonight and hopefully soon in Slack!
Well I created an animation through a site called Powtoon, but they want to charge me $228 to be able to download the file. This is just for school and am not willing to pay an annual fee for a course that is 7 weeks long. The animation I was trying to create was very basic
You can try PowToons. I've used it for a couple of my pitches before – they have some free icons/sprites and you can pay to have some others.
Relatively user friendly if you know how to use Powerpoint.
When making slideshows, Keynote is incredible. I can't think of any reason to use PowerPoint anymore except to have 100% compatibility with others using it - and even PowerPoint doesn't manage that on a Mac.
I have used iWeb and Keynote for something very similar. In Keynote you can create a self-running slideshow that can essentially be an "at your own pace" movie, or an interactive presentation with hyperlinks to smaller slideshows.
Honestly, for the price, I think Apple's iWork suite is amazingly useful and is very professional grade.
