Hi Alexis,
So awesome what you're doing!
I am working on a music collaboration sandbox - http://www.jamhive.com/.
It's for music lovers who have scheduling & coordination problems or friends who live far away.
Currently musicians would try to jam on Hangouts or Skype, but the latency is usually terrible. So, many would record into their laptop and then send over Dropbox or email.
JamHive provides a sandbox for musicians to record directly into their browser and collaborate with friends or bandmates.
Currently this is in super alpha and only works (most of the time) in Chrome. Would love to hear your feedback! Thanks!

(shameless plug) This is a music collaboration scratch track service my friend and I are working on. We had a problem where our guitarist moved to Japan and the remainder of us have trouble scheduling a time and place to collaborate.
So JamHive enables us to record directly into the browser and work on it with each other (very simple concept); bypassing location & scheduling conflicts.
We are looking for feedback, so feel free to try it out - there's a free no-sign-up demo too.
Check out JamHive (http://www.jamhive.com/) and play around with the demo; try recording your voice and inviting a friend to collaborate with. What do you think of the recording experience? Would mute or metronome be useful? How is the sound quality?
I really appreciate your enthusiasm! Let me know if you would like to be a power user and I'll PM you in the future when we have new features to show!
JamHive (http://www.jamhive.com) is a music collaboration sandbox for friends and musicians to quickly throw song ideas around for easy music co-writing, rehearsal, and pre-production--you can think of it as “Google Docs for Musicians.”
