The only other thing I've used is Kakaotalk.
It's like Skype, but it's free as long as the other person also has the app, anywhere in the world. You can do text, send pictures, voice calling, or video calling. Need wifi signal.
That's the only free phone I'm aware of, but you can't call a landline phone number or anything like that.
Hi, the easiest way to see it maybe is to compare to apps like Kakaotalk or Line which originally are messenger services but have combined into platforms for distributing third-party content and apps (games, shops, brands and so on). The idea is to create synergy between a decentralized payment system (the crypto wallet) and a consumer platform powered by third-party services.
There is currently a strong focus on games because specialization helps a lot to successfully boot a marketplace and since I have a game business ready and original IP content to use it makes things easier to develop the proof-of-concept (Litemint is 99% bootstrapped by myself).
So, Litemint can be seen primarily as a digital and decentralized wallet service, the wallet source code will always be open-source in this regard, the philosophy is also about non-custody of keys as in “true crypto wallet”, along with a tech stack that aims at creating synergy with third-party consumer apps and services.
I assembled the website over a weekend and I don’t deny it needs some work to better communicate the idea behind it.
