UltimateEdition might be what you seek. Essentially, it's Ubuntu with all of the gaudy shit in full effect. Wobbly windows, effects, themes, icon sets, it has it all. http://ultimateedition.info/ultimate-edition/ultimate-edition-5-8/
You should try live booting this for fun. Its old - based off of ubuntu 10.10 , but it has gnome 2, kde, xfce, and openbox all preloaded. None of these are modern (unity diddn't even exist then), but are still cool to check out in a live boot. Knowing this distro it probably has the most laggy and uguly desktop effects ever, and the distro itself has so much going on that it feels terribly bloated. But if you're looking for a breif tour of desktop environments I can't think of a better source.
It looks interesting, but it really seems quite unprofessional and not a distro that I would download and install. Just looking at the website makes me want to cringe with the awful images and design.

I switched from Windows to Ubuntu. I am a 20 year windows user and Linux has gotten so good.
I run Ultimate Edition 2.9 which can be seen here,http://ultimateedition.info/ I love it. I have not had a single problem. It came with every other software I routinely need and many more that I might never need. It works really well and I'm a new user to Linux.
I really can't say enough good things about it. I have loaded it on 7 more machines at the request of friends and everyone loves it.
Try Ultimate Edition. Its a very well tuned custom distro that as it happens just came out with its 2.9 release that incorporates KDE, XFCE, LXDE, GNOME, and OpenBox all in one, with many must have extra programs pre-installed and most bugs already addressed. Its awesome, very all encompassing, and has a great (very professional) forum community full of great contributers. Ive been using it for years and it gets better with each release. One of the coolest features of it is when you are in say Gnome, you can still easily find and use the programs that are made for say KDE or XFCE environments. Its very utilitarian. Please do give it a shot. You wont be disappointed.
