There's actually no way in Windows to disable that at all. Spotify only gives you a way to do that but for others, nope. Messenger is the offender here though, it's somehow telling Windows that it's a music player which it isn't.
You could get "Messenger for Desktop" (be careful with the ads in the installer, decline everything) and use it instead of the app or if you use Chrome you can just make a webapp from messenger.com.
There's a desktop version of Messenger you should download. Couple that with the Messenger app on your phone and you can log out everywhere, delete the main app on your phone, and poof, can still use messenger without ever having to log onto normal FB ever again.
So far, Facebook does not have any third party clients (that I could find), due to that their API is discontinued (hence only a few developers ever use it or develop.)
Messenger has one but its only for Mac/Windows. I haven't tested it out, but I will soon (will edit this). Its not an official nor is affliated and its just a wrapper for that speicifc site.
~~Sadly, its not safe to use a Third Party Client for WhatsApp (Source).~~
Oops, that's for android but that does give a good indicator they don't like third party clients. Either way, there is none as well that I could find mantained.
