https://www.reddit.com/r/UsenetInvites/
Might be the place to start for usenet, but i;ve never had much success on that.
https://nzbgeek.info/ seems to get some love in 2018... and they have inexpensive lifetime VIP memberships. What about TPB? Cannot use that?
There are lots of really good indexes out there but if your looking for the best then, at least in my opinion, that would be DOGnzb or NZBgeek. Both offer premium content and features. DOGnzb is a one time fee for access but some of their premium features are only unlocked by purchasing a yearly DOGpass membership in addition to your initial membership fee. NZBgeek is a yearly membership (unless you can get in on their lifetime pass offerings that come up every once in a while) but everything is included for a single price. DOG limits API calls even for DOGpass members, NZBgeek has unlimited API calls. DOG's web UI is faster than NZBgeek. Both have excellent and supportive communities. Both accept bitcoin for payment.
Not a kid, but I do Sonarr and Radarr for searching for downloads, with Sabnzbd as a download client, newshosting.com as a provider and nzbgeek.info as an indexer. IIRC. Sonarr and Radarr have support for torrents as well as far as I know, which should be cheaper. It can be a bitch to setup, but well worth it.
I would never take my computer, google for a name and episode number and stream it through a website. And I'm not interested in more than max 2 apps for showing stuff on my tv, and that's a bit much as well.
I get that it works, but I want to sit down in my couch, start Plex and just play the next episode I have automatically downloaded for a show that I'm following.
https://nzbgeek.info/ They have a geek seek setup that could eliminate the need for drone and couchpotatoe. Anyway, always open, contributions are 1$ a month and it's really good. As for clients: sabnzbd and Nzbget seem to work w/ all newznab sites and also work w/ nzbgeek's custom/modified newznab.
Check your version of Mono. Go into Radarr, Click on System and it should tell you there. If you are on the 4.x version, you'll need to update Mono.
There was an issue recently with NZBGeek and SSL certificates with Sonarr/Radarr/etc.
TLS 1.1 was discontinued and so Radarr needs TLS 1.2 to connect to NZBGeek. I run mine in a docker on Unraid, but it's my understanding that in Windows, you'll need to update your .NET in order to update mono to support 1.2. The problem is, I don't think you can update .NET to the necessary version on Windows 7 since MS doesn't support 7 anymore. The .NET update is a recent one... after they discontinued support. From the end of April, I think.
Here is the thread about it on NZBGeek's website: https://nzbgeek.info/showthread.php?tid=13138
The thread also mentions enabling TLS 1.2 in the registry. Seems legit, but I'm not sure about all that.
You don't need VPN when using Usenet. None of the Usenet providers that I am aware of have any logging.
I think I am paying $8 a month with Astraweb. And $9 a month for supernews. These two providers are on SEPARATE servers so when a piece is missing from one, it can find it on the other.

Indexer - I think I pay $18 a year for nzbgeek.info
Why usenet. No ratios to maintain. No linking anything to your IP that you are uploading.
I'm using NZBgeek.info it's a paid indexer but totally worth it for me. A lot more reliable than the free stuff from last I checked a few years ago. Really good for movies and TV shows but copyright takedowns can still happen sometimes. They have a XXX section as well breaking things into x264,xvid,imgset, pack(collections based on a single pornstar) and wmv. I usually browse x264 and they have really good new stuff. The best XXX indexer I've found is called klverig (i'm sorry I can't give you the exact site as it's not easy to remember and I'm on my work computer). They have "spotters" that give the correct title names, picture previews of the videos and usually multiple nzb sources as Klverig doesn't host the nzb files. It's a great way to find specifically what you want like Classic,Japanese, lesbian, group, gay, anal etc. They even have a 3D category and a VR category. The VR stuff is good but they get taken down sometimes of course you'll need an Oculus Rift or similar to view them.
Corrct. In NZBGet you configure the download server, but in Radarr/Sonarr you configure 2 things: 1) indexer(s) that will be pass on requests from radarr or sonarr and send back that information into 2) a download client (NZBGet for example).
Personally I use NZB.cat and NZBGeek.info

Instead of doing risky things like opening up your network to the world you could just use the cart function and subscribe to the cart in SAB.
https://nzbgeek.info/showthread.php?tid=421
Once you have that setup then you can just add things to your nzbgeek cart and each time SAB checks the cart it will grab all the downloads. You can add things to your cart from anywhere you are logged into nzbgeek
I currently use two. I think most people would recommend 2 as a minimum lately. There have been a few incidents in the past of an indexer being shutdown with little to no notice. Having a backup to save yourself from scrambling around trying to get in to a new indexer when a bunch of other people are trying to do the same is a good idea.
I use: 1. DogNZB - Though they just pulled a move that has a lot of people upset. In a nutshell, they offered lifetime subscriptions then decided they weren't making enough money, in their words, to pay for maintaining servers and everything else that goes in to running an indexer. So they no longer honor those lifetime subscriptions and everyone has to pay by the year now. I have a good amount of time left on my subscription (I was one of those that bought a lifetime), but I am on the lookout for other options. That move rubbed me the wrong way. Regardless of politics, I have had very few issues with them as an indexer. Site has a good layout for manual searches; works awesome when automated. 2. NZBgeek - No complaints with them as an indexer. Also works great for automation. I think there is something with how they do searches so the site is slow to use for manual stuff. I think they don't cache anything or something - someone smarter than me can correct.
I've heard good things about PFMonkey though registration is currently closed for them. I think I'll be trying to get signed up with them to replace Dog.
I have VIP accounts at more than a dozen indexes but my go to is NZBgeek. Grab a year of VIG ($12, which $2 cheaper than NZB.su) and then wait for their next Forever Geek Pass signup and grab a lifetime account. You won't regret it.
edit: Also nMatrix has open registrations until the 20th and are a very good index for the $10 lifetime membership. Big plus for them is the excellent support available both here and via their forums from the admin /u/neomatrix2013.
They just updated their homepage letting users know that they are currently working on fixing site issues. API calls still seem to work which is great!
I haven't unfortunately. I've found a few that have stopped development due to lack of use and the popularity of the others. I still use Couchpotato/Headphones occasionally but if I can go directly to the indexer and manually download something after weeks of no results (all qualities, no filters) they get turned off for a while.
That's why I've turned to RSS, some caveats though:
Using the right keywords is crucial and if you get it working it's very reliable and powerful. Honestly I spent more time deleting bad downloads from CP/HP than I do sifting through RSS results.
It isn't old...they're making changes to their API infrastructure are limiting API calls. In some cases they are disabling the API key altogether for some users.

> I'm not allowed to want an account then decide its not for me?
Never said you couldn't, just thought you may want to spend some time on the site before deciding one way or the other. Glad to see you gave the site a few days, that's all anyone could ask for. If it's not for you, it's not for you, which is completely understandable, everyone likes what they like.
> I'm saying those sites' communities were great because of the user contributed content provoke dialog, even if it was a "thanks" - it was still a lot more than what you get on NN sites.
True those communities were great and I still miss the community and still have been unable to contact a few people from there. There have been a few post and/or people working on a forum that would use TOR, and as nice as that sounds, it most likely won't work. What needs to do be done (but will never happen) is to have a shared forum system, like there currently is with nn+ comments. (But then there is all the issues with rules, and filtering out stuff, ...)
Anyways, if you have any questions about the site, I'd be more than happen to answer them.
Also if you'd like to try out nzb.su, PM me a email and I'll send you one. If you are looking for a community, I've heard NZBGeek has a big forum, but that's b/c they are open to anyone (Last I checked it was around 30k members, but haven't checked after they have updated to geekseek). https://nzbgeek.info/member.php?action=register

I think I saw it on nzbgeek
But to access and download anything on Usenet (including this site), you need to learn about how to use it. There are a bunch of good how-to videos on YouTube on how to get into Usenet, if your interested.

Register in these sites and check it out. For free users you will have some free download per day. These are cheaper too if you buy yearly. With PM you just need a indexer account only to download these files.

I went through this sometime back, and I was confused as well. * Ninja is where the files are at. But the files are broken into small pieces and cannot be used as it is.
This is the basic 101 tutorial. There are lots of ways to automate things, but first, get this working.
I'm fairly new at it and just use it for movies/tv but with nzbgeek.info and nzbplanet.net and there hasn't much i haven't been able to find. Both are paid (i got the lifetime account). I was happy with nzbgeek but i like having backups.
Here's another site:

Happy viewing!
Thank you all for the info.
I have one last question with the final setup. I have purchased nzbgeek and now i have another issue. Seems to be a timeout issue, What am i doing wrong?
" Connection to nzbgeek.info failed: ErrNo 10060, "
I put in the below info:
Host: nzbgeek.info
Username : "myusername" for nzbgeek
Password: "mypassword" for nzbgeek
Port: 119 no ssl (also tried with ssl 443 and 563)
Connections: 8 (i have no idea how many i can put, cant find this info anywhere)
Verification: Strict

Trakt, imdb, and TMDB links are all correct. At least, currently they are. Is it possible that this was added wrong initially, and the RSS feed grabbed it before it was corrected? It doesn't show up at all when I do a manual search.
I recently added nzbgeek to my lineup, and it has made a world of difference. MUCH fewer missing downloads. https://nzbgeek.info
NZBFinder.ws is the other one I use, but most of my stuff gets grabbed from geek.
I get this error when I try to connect to the server: "https://nzbgeek.info: ErrNo 11001, No such host is known." do you know what the value should be for the "host" setting?
Do you not use a VPN with NZB?

Absolutely!
You need two things to get started. A Usenet account (subscription) and a good indexer. I highly recommend using PayPal to pay for these services.
Here is who I use:
Usenet: https://www.tweaknews.eu/en
Tweaknews is fantastic because the are European based, they aren't really subject to any DCMA takedowns like US based ones are. Basically that means you'll be able to get the content you want and it won't be "missing". I pay for their "Lightning" plan. Its like $10 a month. Pretty much the going rate for most providers that I've seen.
Indexer: https://nzbgeek.info/
I pay $12 a year for their service. Totally worth it. Been using them for about 3 years now I think.
Now......EVERYONE has their own opinion and setup and what-have-you. This is just what has worked for me and my needs just fine. I have a giant movie library of mostly "popular" movies as well as TV shows. Music can be tough to find sometimes, especially newly released movies. I tend to hit up torrents for music.
Hope this helps man!!!

I've been pretty happy with NZBGeek, which is open to registration without an invite, but still very good. I use it in addition to other indexers. There is a 2 week free trial.

Giganews tends to be really expensive, and you don't need Mimo to download from Usenet. I'm going to assume you're like most on this subreddit and really want to download binary files. So downloading headers isn't necassary, but still a good idea to know how to do(for really understanding usenet). For the time being though it's easiest to set up sabnzb(lots of help out there). Then you get an NZB indexer (e.g. https://nzbgeek.info/ ) and it's as easy as clicking on an NZB link and downloading. Thats the really simple way. But really downloading from binsearch is easy as well. Try http://www.nzbindex.nl/ to give you more confidence and know how.
https://nzbgeek.info/ They've been changing the address some, not really sure if thats the best link for signing up; but I wouldn't search for you. The basics are that they are always open cost about $1 a month for api access, and work really well. Usenet is a pay to play set up, it's cheap and really easy though.
