Opera browser includes a free VPN, which you can do to watch live streaming from the CBC. I gather a lot of Americans do this because NBC's coverage has been so poor.
Probably as usual, all of the race is supposed to be on FOX.
ps. Opera browser's developer version has free built-in VPN. Much faster than some random proxy and safer than some sketchy free VPN extension. Needs to be enabled from the settings, then pick Netherlands or Germany (or Canada?).
Give Opera Beta a try. Never thought I'd be an Opera user, let alone recommend it to people, but the thing has been rock solid. Since it's webkit-based like Chrome, the look and feel should be pretty familiar to you and it's compatible with most Google Chrome extensions.
If you have access to a VPN that can put your location in Canada (for example, the one included in Opera Beta), you can watch live on the YesTV Livestream (h/t this post by Andy Saunders)
No, it will just install it in a different profile.
What I would suggest is the following:
Sync your speed dial and bookmarks using Opera Sync http://www.opera.com/computer/features/sync
Download Opera beta http://www.opera.com/computer/beta
Open Opera beta and login to sync so that all your bookmarks etc are synced to that too.
See if the same issue occurs there also.
