Nitter is so useful, here is the git repo: https://github.com/zedeus/nitter
More instances: https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/wiki/Instances
Browser addon that can automatically redirect you to nitter: https://github.com/SimonBrazell/privacy-redirect
No, Wikipedia isnt a privacy concern, the entire reason (well theres always circumventing blocked domains ofc) for wikiless' existence is that the creator thinks its been infiltrated by the NSA to grab IP address' or something like that.
why it was added to privacy redirect?, mostly bcs they're wildly inconsistent about what they actually do and have no quality control about what they do and what they dont redirect.

For youtube https://invidious.snopyta.org
https://github.com/SimonBrazell/privacy-redirect use
nitter for twitter bibliogram for ig
One thing to remember with privacy is do not too much inconvenience yourself. Be pragmatic. It is OK if youtube/google.com can realise that you see videos. Ideally open Private/incognito window for youtube. Remember on the longrun too much inconvenience yourself would become a pain point for privacy. See
Trying to protect all your data from everyone all the time is impractical and exhausting. But, have no fear! Security is a process, and through thoughtful planning, you can put together a plan that’s right for you. Security isn’t just about the tools you use or the software you download. It begins with understanding the unique threats you face and how you can counter those threats.
Cool idea. The redirects from Reddit to Teddit aren't working for me for some reason. Hopefully it's just a glitch.
The extension requires access to all website data, but the privacy policy says the right things: https://github.com/SimonBrazell/privacy-redirect/wiki/Privacy-Policy
People already recommended uBlock Origin, my suggestion is to set it to hard mode and disable JavaScript globally. You can then enable it per site.
In addition to what was mentioned, I use Privacy Redirect. It basically converts Twitter links to Nitter, Youtube links to Invidious, Instagram to Bibliogram, etc. You can set which instance you want to use, or you can use a random instance every time.
Complement this with he extension Privacy Redirect, so you don't need to do this manually (i.e., any Youtube link you open will be redirected there)
By default no it won’t redirect Youtube links to the application however, Here is a browser extension that will redirect you to privacy friendly alternatives to websites (Youtube will redirect to FreeTube).
PrivacyRedirect qui redirige un certain nombre de services vers des alternatives meilleurs pour la vie privé. Je m’en sert pour utiliser nitter à la place de twitter principalement.
You can use the Privacy Redirect extension in your browser of choice to open YouTube links into FreeTube. You'll need to enable the option in their advanced settings however.
Come to us if you have any issues though, any issue you have is likely nothing to do with the extension itself.
Got the .deb installed and I found the extension too.
https://github.com/SimonBrazell/privacy-redirect
but it opens YT links on invidious, not within the app.
I can't tell what you're really asking, but it sounds like you want information to be redirected. That's going to require javascript.
You can use privacy redirect (AMO link) to redirect all YouTube links to an Invidious instance. Otherwise, you could write a "simple" redirect from youtube.com to youtube-nocookie.com or something? Might already be an extension out there for that as well.
Here is an workaround solution: just take the url and replace the domain with https://bibliogram.art and then you can use most of Instagram through this site. More info: https://github.com/cloudrac3r/bibliogram
You can also use browser extensions to automatically redirect you to that site or other alternate sites for twitter, youtube, etc. Here is one: https://github.com/SimonBrazell/privacy-redirect
I checked the code inside the downloadable xpi file (right-click on "Add to firefox", Save target as...) and it matches the code from GitHub. It replaces all kinds of URLs before they are requested (which is why it needs the permission to see/intercept ALL web traffic), but that's all it does.
I also installed it, it's a nice idea and implementation.
