We send as little information as we possibly can to YouTube. Most of this information can be avoided by using a VPN and / or switching to the Invidious API in your settings page.
More information over what's sent can be found on our Privacy Page
You can use the Privacy Redirect extension in your browser of choice to open YouTube links into FreeTube. You'll need to enable the option in their advanced settings however.
Come to us if you have any issues though, any issue you have is likely nothing to do with the extension itself.
Got the .deb installed and I found the extension too.

but it opens YT links on invidious, not within the app.
I'm wondering, why FreeTube does not work with my VPN service (IVPN). I turned on the Hardcore AntiTracker mode, which blocks every untrusted surveillance site like Facebook, Google etc. Youtube doesn't work, however if I'm not mistaken, FreeTube connects to Invidious instances right? In-browser instances work, but Freetube just doesn't load any video with the AntiTracker on. Anyone, any idea?
