From reading some of your comments, I found an awesome app for managing hex colors and color combinations. It’s called Sip and it’s fantastic. I use it all the time with AE as the default color picker isn’t truly accurate and I want to save preset colors and recall them quickly. Let me know what you think! https://sipapp.io/
I literally just emailed your support. I purchased CleanShot in 2019. No mention of only a 1-year term as I checked. Now you want me to pay to upgrade to CleanShot X.
I'm a developer and respect the need for devs like us to make money. However, the way you handled this transition is pretty poor. You left a lot of us out in the cold because you decided to change your TOS after we all purchased your cleanshot 2.
So all you've done is make me be spiteful of your software. As soon as you drop compatibility for cleanshot 2 (which I assume will be macOS 13), I'll probably just pay for different software.
You've lost a paying customer because of your actions which could have been avoided if you were upfront with needing to charge yearly. I am not saying I don't want to pay as I will pay for someone else's software instead because how can I know how long this version will last for?
TLDR: There is nothing wrong with charging "one year of updates" with your software if that's how you want to go. YOU didn't specify the terms when I purchased the software. You claimed one-time purchase and I think we can all agree that usually implies more than 10 months of support.
Edit: Here is a developer who understands how to clearly communicate with his customers. Notice it's one-time purchase however he notes 1 year of updates. I think that's very fair and he's upfront. https://sipapp.io
