Yep! You can't have a fangame thread without SRB2. The community is still somewhat active, and development is chugging along. The multiplayer has cooperative and competitive modes and it's a lot of fun. I sunk so much time into it when I was a teenager, and I still hang around on the community IRC chat to this day. Great community, great game.
Give Sonic Robo Blast 2 a go. It's awesome for many reasons:
If you do play it, however, beware: playing as Sonic is insanely difficult in this game. I suggest picking Tails or Knuckles for a start, and when you finish, play Sonic for an extra challenge.
If you are into Sonic games, give Sonic Robo Blast 2 a go. It's awesome for many reasons:
DirectDraw 8 is deprecated and our game uses maps that the Doom engine back in 94 would physically explode trying to run. So especially when running the game in fullscreen, it is prone to crashing unless you use the OpenGL renderer. I've been working to port the existing SDL interface code (used on Linux) to SDL2 so that we can have one unified target that doesn't need a shopping list of hacks to get working.
