Actually they've re-written the iOS and Android apps and are calling it Telegram X. They haven't released the source code yet, but I'm curious to see if they've improved their architecture (hopefully several orders of magnitude (jesus christ those Activities are big))
Are you asking about Telegram X for iOS or Android? Android has no repo and it's not dead, dev had a break (or some IRL stuff) but updates are coming. iOS though became main Telegram and you can read about it here: https://telegram.org/blog/telegram-x
Yes. https://telegram.org/blog/telegram-x
> In this environment, we started relying on internal competition to feed our flames. This is why for the last two years we've been developing a new generation of Telegram clients in parallel with the main versions.
> The Telegram X project features apps written from scratch, with an entirely new code base and without all the legacy components that our older apps have accumulated through the years.
They did re-write it, it's called Telegram-X: >Telegram X for Android was born in the furnaces of a contest for Android developers that our founder launched two years ago. https://telegram.org/blog/telegram-x
Lo estuvo, pero se fusionaron en la única app de Telegram que hay ahora.
>UPD: As of October 2018, Telegram X for iOS has replaced the older Objective-C based client. If you're looking for the best iOS experience, <strong><em>switch to the main Telegram app</em></strong>.

Then I suggest installing Telegram X for Android (https://telegram.org/blog/telegram-x). After that, go to the movie you want to forward, tap on free space next to that media and select "Share". You'll see a popup window with your chats where you can send media to.
Select some chats and (important) long tap on "Send". A popup will open with some options, choose "More options", mark "Send as copy" and "Remove captions in copies" (if needed), then press "Save" and finally "Send".
It's really easy rather than it sounds. If you have problems, don't hesitate to PM me.
From the official telegram blog:

To improve upon themselves they started developing a new version internally. They specifically say that this is officially made by them. I don't know what other proof you need
They didn't buy it, they hired the developer. The publisher of TGX in the PlayStore is Telegram itself, and they published a blogpost back in january saying that TGX has joined the family and that they are going to improve the clients through competition
It is yeah. This was posted at a time when this whole situation wasn't all that clear. The true Telegram has since purchased Telegram X, which is now listed in the official website, and is indeed safe imo.
