Yeah, that makes a lot of sense to me to. I used to use TV Rename for a while and most of the time it worked okay, but the folder monitoring didn't work consistently and every once in a while it would do something goofy like decide to rename every episode in my library with a slightly different naming pattern Showname S01E01 Title.mkv became Showname S01E01 - Title.mkv, which caused havoc. Then I tried sickbeard and sickrage, but after trying sonarr, I haven't looked back

I use TV Rename, which does a great job of things. I use Bulk Rename Utility to manually fix any weird issues that it can't work out.

I would recommend a program called TvRename, it's freeware and you can customize it immensely, and it will get all the info from The TVDB.

Not sure if this if I'm actually answering your question. But I use TvRename to name all my episodes it was clunky to figure out.

I don't think jellyfin has a bulk way.

but that TV Rename software can't use TMDB for TV Shows (only TVDB or TV Maze), so it isn't very good for people like me using ZP Media Library TV Show Categories (which use ZP's TMDB-scraper)

when i set-up TV Rename previously for testing, i'd say about 15% of my shows had problems because of differences between TMDB and TVDB for their episode listings

usage? = it's for a user (me) to make sure they have successfully ripped/collected all episodes in a tv show/season and the count matches TMDB 100%

for example when i buy a TV season on blu-ray

inputs? = you would need to use for example these MediaCache folder.metadata lines:

• TheMovieDB_media_name_episode=
• TheMovieDB_media_name_season=
• TheMovieDB_id=
• TheMovieDB_tv_show_name=

and compare with a fresh TMDB API search for the full TV episode listing for each unique TheMovieDB_id= found in MediaCache

You could probably use TV Rename and have it rename based on production order. You would just need to make sure to put them in the right order rather than manually changing each.

I use TV Rename for managing filenames of my shows.

Connects to The TVDB for episode names, and is in active development. Highly recommend this program.
