As long as you're getting the apk from a trusted source (I recommend just going to videoder.net), then yes it's completely safe to install.

Videoder is the best app to download youtube videos if you're on mobile. It can even download entire playlists or automatically download new videos from specified channels.

^(not sure if it is available for iphones though)

Thanks a lot for the answer, however unfortunately it does not work. Won't download from the link I provide, probably because the video is only visible to the account.

Videoder is a completely free YouTube Downloader that IMO looks better than regular YouTube. It also has a system-wide overlay feature that asks if you want to download something when you copy a YouTube link. I use it to download 90% of my music. You have to have outside sources enables, they took it off the play store a little while ago.
