Volume2 takes over the entire volume control from Windows, and makes it versatile. Been using it for years to control per-app sound without needing to open any menu, and one of the most important apps for me.
I just scroll over the taskbar to change volume for focused app. And has multiple OSD options as well. And use keyboard shortcuts in fullscreen games, with no OSD. Has zero impact on game performance that way.
EarTrumpet doesn't at all compare.

Dazu auch Volume²
Haven't tried Eartrumpet, but I use Volume2. I use it for win+scroll to adjust volume and win+lmb to mute. It also has logarithmic volume adjusting, which is useful for me because 5% volume without it is already too much for me.
Also, I recomend f.lux, it's better than windows Night Color
Thank you for your reply datgooddude,
I'm trying out Volume2, it does indeed offer more and easier audio control—but it changes the volume for the entirety of firefox not 'selective enough' to only change the volume of one tab.
Coincidentally I have Enhancer for YouTube already installed but I don't think there is an option to change the volume of a video a YT tab when one is on a non-YT tab.
I'm not really answering your question, but you could get volume2 to control audio by scrolling on the Windows taskbar, and the Enhancer for YouTube add-on to just simply hover and scroll over videos to adjust the volume. These two already make adjusting audio so much easier

Set volume control to logarithmic, number of steps to 100 and you've got volume control in dB. Set the Magni volume dial to max.
If you just need a USB DAC then the Apple USB C headphone adapter is all that you need unless you want additional functionality.

I would not assume this to be true.
You are looking to replace an open headphone with a closed headphone. Do you value a headphone being open and with low noise isolation?
I didn't add it just because that apparently broke when they removed VOIP so they definitely know about this one and will be fixing it as soon as they add VOIP back in. For now I suggest downloading a really useful program called volume2 - https://github.com/irzyxa/Volume2 - you can bind anything on your keyboard or mousewheel to mute/+/- volume of any individual application
Or you could use Volume² and make a keycombo for it like this: https://i.imgur.com/rt6lhwt.png
(I bound that keycombo to one of my G600 thumbbuttons for maximum usability)
With it you can also customize the volume change OSD in a lot of ways.
