Hey if you do not mind windows defender. Also check out WFN [ Windows Firewall Notifier] i like to run a deny all setup & this is the most light weight option i have found.
I run WFN and MalwareBytes, thats it. Nothing gets out without my permission and WD & MB will detect when something is bad.
For those interested
There's also WFN, which is an open source app for Windows that integrates directly with the (already powerful) system firewall but gives you a GUI to better configure it as well as offering notification popups among other features.
Grab this and get aggressive in your monitoring. search your apps, watch what talks and be selective. Invest in a PiHole blocking box and go from there. Don't allow a script to do your security, own your network, understand the communication points and you'll never have to worry.
