If you have local music can you try this music player (if you're on windows).
https://winyl-player.github.io/
It's straight forward. Go to settings and change to asio before playback. (Different music players sound different on windows in my experience).
If you have a usb based DAC and run windows, please try the following two music players.
https://winyl-player.github.io/ (set it to asio if your DAC supports for best performance).
If you were convinced by winyl, then please try hysolid.
Software and how it interacts with priority/scheduling can have an effect on the sound quality. My friend has been able to reliably measure the difference between winyl and foobar2000 both in wasapi configuration.
If you want to hear the difference for yourself, download winyl (https://winyl-player.github.io/) go to settings, put it in wasapi, and give it a shot. Compare with foobar2000 also set up in wasapi. If your DAC supports asio, use that instead if wasapi. Make sure you installed proper DAC drivers first.
