I was planning to stuff my gameplay comments on My original post , but since this one is newer I'll put it here:
Conclusion: If you are interested in more Adventure Bar Story and don't mind nearly identical game play, this isn't a bad purchase. If you haven't played Adventure Bar Story, buy that first (unless you prefer the 3D art style of Marenian Tavern Story).
Possibly Adventure Bar Story or its sequel, Marenia Tavern Story?
I'm pretty sure this is using the same engine as Adventure Bar Story and Marenian Tavern Story , though in this case the game focuses around a blacksmith instead of a chef.
I'm skeptical that this game does anything new, but if you just want more of the same, this game should provide it.

It was a game I played a while ago, but honestly I very much enjoyed it. It's a mix between a cooking game and an turn based RPG. Sounds weird, but it was admittely very fun for a few weeks. You go around the forest fighting creatures, gathering ingredients and then cook at your restaurant. There's even a story, a cooking contest, different biomes with different ingredients etc.
Didn't play it till the end though, so don't know if it gets repetitive or anything.
Awesome a topic I can really contribute too. I love tycoon style games and there's a variety of games out there, though as the gameplay becomes more niche you tend to find they will have smaller, but focused communities. I'll also throw my vote behind Recettear as a great game. Some of my favourites include:
The Atelier Series is really cool and is a JRPG with a central element around collecting supplies you use for alchemy, which is a crafting system. Items can then be sold or used.
Atelier Sophie is a recent release and availible on Steam and could be a good point to start in the series. These are large RPGs so you can easily get over 1000 hours from all 3 games recently released on PC.
Merchants of Kaidan is another PC game, but is also availible on Android. You're a traveling merchant and trying and make a profit on buying / selling goods. It's relatively small and not well balanced (some trades are really OP), but is a fun time waster.
Adventure Bar Storey is an awesome game in the vein of a SNES era top down RPG, you need to go out and collect materials which can be sold directly or crafted into things to be sold or equipped.
Lastly on mobile there is Shop Heroes. This is very much in the vein of mobile gaming with microtransactions, but has a reasonable level of polish and a pretty active community.
Sure, here's a couple.
The current Humble Mobile Bundle has one, Adventure Bar Story. You're trying to save your family's small bar/restaurant. There is a lot of crafting/buying/selling and the things you craft/cook you put on the menu. It's one of those games where you can spend almost all the time just in towns. If you want to explore, fight, and find/gather materials, you can go to different areas. Turn based combat, seven characters, use up to three at a time. Note that the Play Store version has IAP to unlock areas faster. Humble Bundle version is IAP free and you unlock areas just by playing.
Star Traders (also has demo) has a lot of options to play more as a merchant/trader. Lots of buy low, sell high. Turn based combat if you want to fight instead of evading. Can also do things like exploring or spying to get materials to sell. Paid version has no ads, optional IAP to unlock things faster, but you can unlock everything just by playing.
Merchant has lots of crafting. You hire and equip heroes. Send them on quests and they'll bring back crafting materials. When I last played it had IAP for some cosmetic stuff.
Pixel Blacksmith also has a lot of crafting. You run a small shop and buy/sell/craft weapons and armor. At higher levels you can get workers to help gather materials and equip heroes with gear to go on quests. Free, optional ads for buffs, single $2 IAP to unlock a new game plus mode.
It's also available for android.
Sounds kinda like Adventure Bar Story actually.
Adventure Bar Story, or it's spiritual successor, Marenian Tavern Story.
