If you like Google Calendar, you could use Calendar Notifications Plus or similar app to take over some or all of your calendar notifications.

Of course, you should review your notification preferences in the app (general and per calendar), as well as double check them in the desktop browser version.

Edit: I meant to add that I known you are using this app but that it has an option to bundle notifications on Android 6+ that fits what I think you want. Link provided for the curious who want to check out the app.

I did actually (no thanks to the OnePlus forums). What worked for me is downloading a separate app and I haven't missed any notifications so far:

I've been using Calendar Notifications Plus for awhile now and it fixes/works around the issue by making calendar notifications sticky.

Also you could have reminders also emailed to you, then Snooze those emails in Gmail.

So I use a smart watch (you can still get a Pebble Time for a good price) but you can set your phone to vibrate.

You could also print/write out your schedule and leave it in front of you all day. I used to do that before computers were everywhere.

There's also an Android app called Calendar Notifications (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.quarck.calnotify) that does lots of great stuff with calendar notifications. I use it to not miss my reminders.

Calendar Notification Plus - adds extra options to calendar notifications, allowing snooze, reboot persistence, in case of google calendar - persistence in general (since google calendar removes notifications after a while).
