Calendar Notify is a big one for me. I like to keep my home screens clean but needed an easy way to see where I was running to for my next meeting. This allows me to put a permanent notification with my upcoming appointments and also show information on my lock screen.
I'm pretty sure I'm using the free version, but there is a paid unlock to open up additional customization features.
I use most of the ones already mentioned but I also use an app I wrote called Calendar Notify.
It basically displays all your calendar events on your lockscreen or notification area and I use it to manage my daily agenda.
I'm mentioning it here as many others have said they've found it to be a must have app after they've tried it out and I agree with them :)
Calendar Notify might be what you want. It's not perfect in the sense that you can't pick individual events to pin but it does pin your upcoming calendar events and you can select which category to show/hide and how many items to show in total. Hope it helps.
Not sure on the Tasker side, but this app can display hours till next appointment in your status bar and keeps a notification running showing X number of events.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cliffcawley.calendarnotify has a widget and I know for sure does event duration. I remember another widget that did it but I can't remember which one.
If you're interested in trying out another app, I'm the developer of Calendar Notify which I created because Status Agenda stopped updating.
I've added a ton of new features to it as well, and while I'm biased; I personally think it's much better than Calendar Status and Status Agenda combined :)
Thanks, I'll look into that!
I did find an app that can do this when the time is close - "Calendar Notify" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cliffcawley.calendarnotify when using "Dynamic Time".
Along with "Square Home" which has a widget that shows number of days to each event I'm cool now.
There is also an app in early access that lets you put widgets on the lock screen, haven't tried it yet.
I love how clean and simple Niagara is, so I haven't used any widgets since installing it. I used to just try and remember to open the calendar app each day to view upcoming appointments, but recently missed a very important date, so I've only been using calendar widgets for a few days now, but have found two that seem to match the clean and simple style of Niagara,Calendar Notify, and Smooth Calendar. Both have customisation available to get that "minimal" look, just trying to figure out which one I prefer. I should point out that I prefer an agenda view of my next couple of days as opposed to a full month calendar view.
I use Calendar Notify, mainly to view it from the lock screen or notification shade, but a customisable widget is available too. Perhaps you'll like it.
Here's the official spiel:
> Calendar Notify displays your Calendar events and agenda in the status bar, the lock screen on Android Lollipop+ and in a widget, using a beautiful design that's both visually pleasing and highly functional. > > > You'll have quick access to your agenda from anywhere on your device. > https://goo.gl/nbCT5a

I've used this for a couple years now.

I use Calendar Notify it can show your agenda in the status bar, block screen and in a widget, my personal favorite is to show agenda in the status bar, no intrusive and more discreet...
Calendar Notify. It puts your next calendar events as a permanent notification. I.e. instead of having a calendar widget on my home screen, I can just have the next x number of events show up in my notification list only when I swipe down. What's also great is I can click the icon within the notification to easily create a new event.

Another minor issue is that you cannot change the notifications sensitivity. I have my lock screen set to hide sensitive details. But would prefer to be able to see who's birthday today right on the lock screen.
As of lately I've been leaning towards Calendar Notify https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cliffcawley.calendarnotify
Combined with Google's contacts events calendar it will show birthdays and any other anniversaries in the notification shade. Always there, visible every time you open the shade. Good enough reminder for me.
I always missed that too on my PRIV and KEYone and found this app to be a perfect replacement: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cliffcawley.calendarnotify
You jst have to configure it the way it looked on BB10.
While it's not a full fledged calendar app, my app Calendar Notify can be used with any Calendar app, including the built in Google Calendar to display all of your calendar events on your lockscreen or notification area.
This essentially means you can have a good view of your upcoming agenda, straight on your lockscreen or a swipe away on the notification area.
Calendar Notify Agenda Status: Simple free way to look at my agenda by pulling down the notification menu.
Doze: Battery saver that works by limiting internet and data privileges when the screen is off. (Just started to use this so I can't say how much its helped.)
Key Plus (for most LG devices): Re attributes the volume up button (when the screen is off) to a different function. I have it to turn on the flashlight.
Turbo Alarm: Alarm clock with a lot of options.
What about this one?
