Thanks mate, sorry for the stupid question but how exactly does that work? I buy the app from the the play store then just connect my phone to the car and it will let me clear the fault?
Edit: this here? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voltasit.obdeleven
I take it this requires the pro? Does it have all the adaptations for the MK7 now?
On this app I saw this 1/5 star review, so I just want to confirm.
>No Adaptation - Promises not kept Still waiting on Adaptation for MK7 GTI, promised for September, it is now December and the developer doesn't respond to questions regarding that anymore. I paid for the dongle and bought pro for that very reason, should have just bought the Ross Tech kit.
Yah if you get the LED sweeping ones you'll need to get the lights themself, a wiring harness, and the bluetooth odb tool that works with ODB Eleven. If you happen to live in SoCal I'd be happy to do the coding for you or let you use mine.
Pocket VAGCOM - OK, if that is the use case, why not just go all out for VAGCOM as it is a far more valuable option for the elite user? Price? Well, that is a debatable point surely. Specificity? Definitely there are advantages in having a more specific tool to fit your individual needs, we would wholeheartedly agree "but better in every single way"...that is a stretch considering the last two OBDeleven updates have been met with a fair amount of heat -https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voltasit.obdeleven&hl=en, the credit pricing model is an issue for people ($88 USD and then credits on top) Their app doesn't work on iOS, so this is a valid consideration. Their architecture is closed, so you're "just " buying their tool, so you can't use OBDfusion or OBDautodoctor on iOS or cool tools like RaceChrono or Torque on android.
On a second point: They also spend far more time trolling our stuff, rather than writing good software -https://www.bebee.com/producer/@dphilpott/carista-and-obdeleven-notes-from-the-coalface-of-business) They've only recently started using Reddit ( so we're interested in the swing to unqualified endorsements, when before people/commentators were quite reasoned in their analysis of both products).
That would have been nice to have last week when I bought OBD eleven Pro for $43
