I helped develop the Cedar Point VR app. It technically doesn't work with Gear VR but if you have the Note 4 version of the Gear you can launch the app and hook the phone to the headset without connecting the USB.
We have a version that works with the Gear but Oculus didn't want to put coaster experiences on the Gear VR marketplace since they cause too much "uncomfort."

Is it free? Not worth a penny more. You know the old adage "You get what you pay for."? Here is a major exception from that rule. Well when you have unscrupulous companies like Cmoar around. They really take the Michael with the price they put on this and with dubious reviews on the Play store that could only be written by friends or the ignorant at best. Virtually every free roller coaster ride is better than this and the price is daylight Robbery. Be ashamed Cmoar. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too!
Cedar Point is free and much better:- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.CedarFair.CedarPointVR
Here is another free one, has a New Year theme, million times more effort than Cmoar and they do not ask for a penny:- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcs.vr.rollercoaster.simulator.free
Over the holidays my family got a big kick out of the "Catatonic" video in the VRSE app.
Then I just threw them in the deep end and put them in Omega Agent >:)
They also really liked the Cedar Point VR Cardboard app (a roller coaster), but you have to use the Package Disabler trick to get it to run on the Gear VR...
Edit: Link.
I had my parents and brother all try Cedar Point's app for their new roller coaster and after that they were all eager to try more. My brother and I ended up going back and forth for a while beating each other's high score on PolyRunner.
Cedar Point actually did one for Google Cardboard to promote their new coaster. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.CedarFair.CedarPointVR
But since a coaster is fixed movement, 360 videos do a pretty good job of emulating the experience.
Heard this one was good

I've had the joy of demonstrating cardboard to a number of relatives of all ages on both my wifes side of the family and my own. Here are the things that really wowed people:
With Vrse, though it's just videos the "Take Flight" video from NYT was really enjoyed by the grandparents.
Besides all of that, some of the 360° videos on YouTube are very cool.
Here's the link for the Cedar Point VR app on Google Play. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.CedarFair.CedarPointVR
