Incorrect, Drupe Call Screen allows call recording.
As does ACR . But note the following update
> In order to comply with new Google Play Store policy ACR is no longer have CALL LOG permission. This means all calls will be saved as "Unknown", call filters such as Excluded and Included numbers will cease to work. You can use "Edit number" option to rename calls.
I'm sure that there are more apps out there, but these two I've used.
I really love <strong>drupe</strong>, it's an awesome app which can be activated from anywhere and is super fast, clean and can be customized in almost any aspect. I never want to use another dialer or contact app anymore :)
Drupe.
Just tried to see how that works and kinda stuck with it. Main reason for me to use it, it's feature about copying. When you copy a text it gives you options for sharing, web searching, translating, taking note etc. Another reason is that the call recorder for optional numbers. Btw last week they introduced gif calling not sure why tho.

I set it to my home button on my launcher and it totally changed how I interact with my contacts. I believe it has a separate dialer shortcut but the front interface also has a dialer button that works exactly like you would expect.
It doesn't really need explanation, just try it on for size and you'll know in a few minutes if it's for you.
Edit: make sure you look at the settings!
I don't know if there's an option to block all unknown calls with LineageOS native apps. I also had bad times with unwanted calls here in Brazil, and drupe (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app) helped me solving this problem.
I really like the latest Google dialer with it's floating in-call button (<strong>my screenshot</strong>). You can get v19 from apkmirror. Give it permissions to "Display over other apps" and set it as default Phone app.
Drupe is pretty unique, I can see the potential for it to become quick to navigate, but I personally found the UI cumbersome.
Check out the Drupe app, the widget is more flexible in that you can choose an action. Such as Dial, Text, Edit, Map, Twitter, plus many other options...

Isn't there a built-in feature on Android of which app to use for calls already?
Anyway, the only similar thing I know of is Drupe, where you drag the contact to the app/action you want to use it with:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app&hl=en&gl=US
Not many apps that are alternatives to the during-call UX. Maybe one of these:
I use drupe, the best thing about this is it's blocking method is "pick up and hang up" which is great cause ur voicemail won't get spammed.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app
I have never understood why Drupedoesn't get more attention. It is my only non-FOSS app on my phone because I like it so much.
If you're on Android, I've been using Drupe which is pretty good at blocking (and not redirecting to my VM) these spam calls. If a spam call did get through, you can report as spam to prevent further calls and also help others receiving from the same number.
They are just software-based though. There's loads of specific copy solutions and I suspect People Edge was based off of an old app I've always used called drupe.
I've found one that has a real Phone UI replacement (during calls), and it has a lot of features:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app&hl=en
I actually tried it in the past, but I didn't feel I like its UI. I still don't.
However, I think they did great job in terms of features.
Drupe is a pretty known one, and overall good if you want to customize your dialer/contacts a lot.
I've used for a while but it didn't suit my needs that much, it was pretty smooth though.
Call recording is built into Drupe.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app
Warning : some people have complained about the permissions. I have found this multi-faceted dialer to be well worth the install.
I'm surprised I didn't see this mentioned.
It creates an easy to use contacts center that basically removes the need to have 4+ apps on your desktop or home dock.
Want to message your s/o on Whatsapp? Swipe your s/o's icon to the whatsapp icon and it will open whatsapp with her chat window pulled up. If they don't answer, swipe their icon to facebook messenger, or give them a call, or open up google maps and have it open to their address immediately.
Only downside is since Android 5+ any screen overlays can cause very annoying error messages when you open a new app for the first time.
On Android N on Samsung it's built in and it detect who's calling. Else I use drupe, which has that feature also to detect it and also block (I think). But no chance to get that in Tasker :/
drupe is kinda cool. i just started using it, and it can record calls. im not sure of the quality or if it works at all lol but the option is there haha
Check out Drupe (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app&hl=en). It adds a small widget on the side which you can slide and it allows you to pick how you want to dial each of your contacts (includes hangouts dialer, whatsapp etc).
It's a really nifty app called Drupe. Much cooler than the regularly dialer and if you have a very detailed contact book like having addresses listed etc, it's a simple drag and drop to the maps, facebook message, skype, along with the normal call, text, calendar.
EDIT: Google Play Link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app&hl=en
So far I haven't seen "drupe" it's an overhaul of a Contact list and it's pretty great! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app
It let's you swipe it open and then drop your contact on to the way you want to interact with them, Call, SMS, WhatsApp, Messenger, Schedule, e-mail and loads of other supported apps. Also let's you share your map coordinates by SMS.
Drupe does this nicely plus a bit more and adds no overhead. You could use both.
Lets you interact with your contacts by dragging them to whatever app you want to use from any screen. I've found it useful.
There's an app that was just launched this week, although I'm not objective (the company I work at does the marketing for them), I truly think you'll thank me! It's amazing! It's called drupe and it's basically an always-on launcher for your contacts and communication apps. You just drag the contact and drop it to the right app (what'sapp, facebook and so on) and get in touch! The next web describes it as "If you’re rocking an Android phone, Drupe is a must-have to help you connect with people faster." Check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.drupe.app

Drupe has a pop-up that you tap on if you choose to record the call. This feature is only enabled for the premium version, but this app is worth buying imho.
