The Cribbage with Grandpas app is often recommended, and I have tried several Cribbage apps, including that one. It may be useful for learning the rules of Cribbage, but I can't recommend it for regular play and here's why.

Many of the reviews of Cribbage with Grandpas from experienced Cribbage players suggest that the AI for that app is highly suspect. The program increases the difficulty level not by giving you a computer opponent who makes better decisions, but by giving you a computer opponent who gets better "random" cards. In other words, the app is effectively cheating.

To confirm this, read the comments accompanying the one-star reviews on the App Store, Google Play Store and App Grooves. They all come down to saying the same thing: the app cheats and gives better cards to the computer player on the harder levels, and that the cards it gets dealt are statistically not possible. It's really unfortunate, because otherwise it's a very fun app for playing Cribbage.
