Hey All!
Today I found my game featured on the App Store in "Incredible indie" in Australia and New Zeeland.
I would like to share my small achievement with Reddit community and say thanks to everyone who helped me with ideas, suggestions and other things while creating the game.
I started making games last summer and have released 3 games so far (1 game is Android only and 2 games IOS + Android).
Zombie Puzzle is my third game and took 5 months to create.
Before releasing the first two games I filled out all possible forms to be featured on Google Play and App Store but it never worked for me.
For the Zombie Puzzle game I didn't do anything in terms of requests to be featured.
On May 17 I got an email from Apple:
"Your app, Zombie Puzzle: Save the Chicks, may be featured on the App Store"
They asked to provide some artworks and pointed that there is no guarantee that my game will be featured on App Store. I've provided all needed assets and after a week of waiting I noticed an unexpected activity from users from Australia and New Zealand. After changing the store I was glad to see my game in "Incredible indie" on the main Games tab!
Btw here is a link to the game:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/zombie-puzzle-save-the-chicks/id1562323515
And android version can be found here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playrea.zombie.puzzle
In a few days I will have detailed statistics in the console and can share the results if you are interested.
Please share your experience after your games got featured in the Stores. What boost did you get in downloads?
Well, I am finally here with my first game released, I know is not to much of a game, but I will take it as a W because is on google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SquidMouth.TheImpossibleBalloonGame
I made a little video about the experience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnN1d9QXNmY
As a feedback, I wanna ask what was your feelings about your first game that you released?
Am I the only one that I feel a little bit ashamed of my work?
At some point you will be sick to death of your game (SDoG).
It's unavoidable. Game dev is hard work and when you're SDoG, that's when stick-ability and good work habits will see you through. Others will start yet another project they won't finish.
Things I've found useful:
Regularize your work hours so you get into the habit of working set hours on dev. When you start to feel disappointed in yourself because you didn't get anything done on a dev day/night, you know it's working.
Conversely, take regular time off. For example, do nothing on Friday night/Saturday. Don't even think about your game - leave it alone. Taking a break is refreshing.
Recognise that sometimes programming just isn't possible (maybe you're tired, just not in the mood, etc), so do something else - perhaps choosing music or developing artwork.
Hi guys! Me and my brother launched our first game. It is available right now on Google Play for free. We also made a trailer 😁

Hi. I'm a student and I'd like to show a project I've been working on in the last year.
The game is called Hives , as the idea came when I was reading something about bees and how they make their hives hexagonal because it minimize the border-to-area ratio.
Anyway, it's a puzzle, where every level is an irregular chessboard of hexagons. You have to move from point A to point B, using a limited number of moves. A move can take any of the six directions of the hexagon, and will take you to the last cell available in that direction.
If you'd like to try it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonercat.hives
I've been working on this project solo on the evenings and weekends for a few years, and it's finally done. It was a great learning experience and a ton of fun!
Game looks promising!
For me, Cube ---> Rectangle seems like an odd choice.
If flaps were added, the game could involve transforming shapes in a more 'logical' way. Like this, perhaps?
This tweak could also open the door for so many unique shapes and challenges. What about a dodecahedron? What could the player use these crazy shapes for?
Hope to see updates, love the idea so far ^ _ ^
Hi, i have been working for few years on a small game inspired mostly by Subnautica with Star Wars visuals. I would like to do a lot in terms of story and content, but i am working on it mostly alone, so i have currently released it only for mobile devices as i dont feel like the game visually stands out enough to be on PC.
I would like to ask for honest feedback and also for you to just check out Star Wega of course :), whether its something you personally would want to see on Pc or you think mobiles are better place for it. Currently i find that mobile players have often issues with the game being a bit too complicated.
Game is free to play, so give it a go, if it looks like something you would be interested in. I have tried to make sure that the game does not have annoying ads, they are completely optional.
Empires Apart is a game currently in development that aims to be a modern successor to Age of Empires. I've been running an unofficial series of devlogs (taken from the developer Twitch streams) over at /r/empiresapart, which have a bunch more screenshots and info.
The artist is a guy called Scott Pellico, whose work you can find at www.artstation.com/artist/appylon
Yes! Its availible for android (not on ios, uploading a game there is just too expensive)

Over the last few months I decided to learn something new after graduating from University. I decided to learn how to program for the purpose of game development. After about 2 months on learning code and a month learning the Unity Engine I present my first published game.
It's a very simple game where you move a bridge between roads to help cars move across. Simple I know but for my first completed project I'm proud.
If you'd like to try it out it's released for android at:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ObviousTurtleGames.CrossyBridge&hl=en
If you like it please leave a review :) If you don't like it let me know what could make it better! I know it's not perfect!
Hello. Me and couple of friends have just finished our newest game Maze and Numbers. The game is a brain teaser which requires precision and patience to beat. There are no timers, nor high scores. All levels are unlocked from the start, so you can play it at your own pace. Maze and Numbers has two gameplay phases that offer seamless interaction between player and game. In the first phase, you draw a path for your ball, but it must be drawn using a single line and it must not intersect with itself. This basically allows you to make your own way through each level, making it so that every playthrough is different from the one before. In a second phase, simply hold your finger anywhere on the screen to move and collect other balls in a row, while carefully timing your movement to go around obstacles.
You can check it out on GooglePlay https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.FullGasTank.MazeAndNumbers&hl=en

are both a great place to start.
Hey!
We don't have a dev blog, but we do have a IndieDB page here: http://www.indiedb.com/games/indiegamebattle
As well as our own subreddit for the game: http://www.reddit.com/r/indiegamebattle/
Those are maybe the two most important places related to the game. ;)
Ask us anything anytime though! We answer all questions as good as we can. :)
Thank you very much!
Well I use Adobe Premiere to cut the video the exact frame I want. Then I use https://ezgif.com/video-to-gif to convert it to a gif and edit it. It's very complete for an online tool. You can choose the standard size of your gif, use static backgrounds to save size on it, choose your framerate, crop it, remove frames, change speed etc. with a very simple & clear interface.
You can also optimize your gif to reduce the size the way you want (Lossy Gif compression is amazing).
Hope it helps!
I'm really impressed that it works in my mobile browser! The game uses a simple concept, but you've implemented it well.
If I may, I'd like to suggest something to help make the experience perhaps more immersive for mobile users: The HTML5 Vibration API.
I noticed there are many times in your game at which the screen visibly shakes (pretty cool effect btw!), and I think this effect could stand out even more with a small vibration. Of course you would have to implement a button to disable/enable vibration (the same way you've added a button for fullscreen mode) because vibration in games drives some people crazy.
Anyway, good game, thanks for sharing!
Currently polishing the tutorial of my upcoming mobile platformer, would love to hear some feedback!
The game is called Leap: A Dragon's Adventure and you can pre-register for free on Google Play and App Store.
I made the camera on the right go up the closer the player is to the next platform, would love to hear more feedback that could improve the depth perception of my game!
The game is called Leap: A Dragon's Adventure and you can pre-register for free on Google Play and App Store.
After trying out a load of different ideas I decided to go with something that I could actually finish: an endless pipe connecting puzzle game.
Pipes Game is available on Google Play store for free for the next week or so.
I tried to make a game that would be relaxing to play on my way to work, that wasn't full of in-app purchases or ads. The aim of the game is to connect the pipes together and see how many pipes you can connect.
Feedback: I'd really appreciate feedback on the game, especially how easy/hard it is to figure out the controls as I haven't added a tutorial yet.
iOS: I'm going to try and publish an iOS version soon too, and maybe a windows version.
You can play the game here:
Android
IOS
It has 50 puzzles/levels and kind of unique mechanics (prove me wrong if they are not, the sooner the better ;).
My aim was to provide a consistent and high quality experience that plays well on mobile. The result is better than my previous (first) game, so I'm happy.
Any feedback appreciated!
I entered the world of programming just this year and managed to publish my first game on Google Play.
Anyone interested on checking please use this link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unoflatugames.marsnomore
It is kind of retro mixture of space shooters and snake games. Visuals are not perfect as I lack the necessary skills for design.
Any reviews or comments are highly appreciated.
Also if you have any questions regarding the mechanics or stuff in the game, feel free to ask!
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I'm the sole developer of Automaton, a mobile programming game. I've been into programming games for a while now (Human Resource Machine, anyone?) so I decided to make one over the summer before I head into the 3rd year of my CS undergrad.
Development has been challenging but rewarding and I'm super proud of the game. If you want to try it out, here's the Google Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JeremyFriesen.AutomationInc
Thanks :)
It's a pretty casual arcade game. Might need to increase the difficulty.
Let me know what you guys think!

Edit: Google Play link is back online
I started working solo on this game 2 years ago and it is such a relief to have released it on Google Play. I probably spent a total of 6 months over 2 years and yes juggling with other priorities (job!) in life is hard!
It is a minimalist retro arcade shooter with a vertical scrolling gameplay. The gameplay is kept as simple as possible with a focus on skills rather than multitude of upgrades and weapons to collect to improve the spaceships.
I made sure that players are scored on the basis of pure game skills and not having to pay to win in the game! It makes it fair to everyone playing the game. On the technical side, I used cocos2d-x.
I have codes you can redeem in the game. PM me if you are interested.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.majiho.meteorhit
I would like to know what you think of it.
Yes! There's actually an Android version already available.
You can get a standalone APK if you purchase the game on itch.io (https://crowbarska.itch.io/switch-n-shoot) or there's an older beta version on Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mglanville.switch_n_shoot).
I intend to come back to it and update it for a full release at some point (so so busy at the moment, oh my word!) and hopefully iOS in the future too.
The finished game is available here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.toppluva.grandmountain
And we have our own little subreddit if you want to continue to follow the game at r/GrandMountainAdv
Thanks again!

Are you waiting for the buss and you want to play a quick game? Then Zen Reflex might be just the right game for you, it's an quick, easy to learn but hard to master game with leaderboard.

> What makes it special?
Honestly, nothing makes it special. It's a small, basic, 2D platformer with no features to make it stand out.
If I had to list why it might be worth someone's attention it would be:
Downloading it from Google Play is free!
It has no ads
It has no in-app purchases
Loading screens vanish quickly
The full source code and assets are on GitHub (note that it's not tidied up to tutorial or article level, apologies for that)

Go Straight is a Simple 2D game with a score based system where you try to beat your or your friend high score. You try to navigate your yacht in a river full of wooden logs however there is a catch, you can only go diagonally.
It is very easy to learn and play but very hard to master.
Hi guys, I am a computer scientist student and I recently started making games. I dont have any budget or any idea how to continue from here. So i wanted to get ideas and recommendations from you guys. I value your opinions very high and i would be extremely happy if you guys told me how do you feel about my game any recommendations about the art style or the design that comes to your mind. I open to everything i am very excited to hear you guys. Thank You So Much.
My basis was I could never find a classic 2D RPG on the app stores that I didn't have to randomly grind 1000's of heroes to combine with others to level up or spend money on otherwise months of grinding.
This is a classic smash monsters, get exp, get gold, and complete levels.
Let me know what you guys think and feel free to ask me anything, request changes, request additions, or request new features for chapter 2 (which I'll make if this generates enough interest).
Thanks everyone.
PS. It's an APK which means android phones google play store, but if you want to give it a go, just download Bluestacks which is an android emulator and you can access the game from that.
If you guys find any bugs or bad balance issues, let me know and I'll whack your name in the credits.
Thanks guys.
This is a game me and my parner have been working this last year on our free time!
Is now released on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fonserbc.mtd
Waiting for IOS aproval.
You can try the game and know more on http://ForgetTheBrak.es

this is where i post concepts and talk to other developers about the game.
here is a link to a small demo.
That's not an Atari verson, it was made for the Ludum Dare (theme : "Ancient Technology") by Geared Games (check his other work : http://gamejolt.com/@G.Beuneker/games ).
"The game is a classic rendition of No Man's Sky using oldschool Atari 2600 graphics and control schemes."
Good questions!
We are building a currently untitled turn based tactics roguelike. It is a little bit TRPG but focuses more on survival and stealth elements. Still early days with development but we are making progress! We use the godot engine which has been great to use so far!
Thank you for your support! Check Sol-Ark's page on IndieDB to know more.
P.S. By the way, all musics in every video on Sol-Ark Youtube channel - are our own (composer - Eugene Guliugin).
Man, I read the info on your IndieDB page. Everything sound awesome, as I am a huge fan of surreal type hallucinations. We will be having a hallucination mechanic in the game I'm working on (Sol-Ark) although probably not in a pee your pants terrified kind of way like I imagine you are going for. But I really hope something strange happens with that Mickey Mouse poster on the wall--nothing freaks me out more than seeing the familiar turned...weird.
Hey guys, one of the devs here, just wanted to mention that our intent with game is that you should always be able to win based off your own skill level rather than having to grind your way to victory. In the current state of the demo the buffs your weapons receive over time are helpful, but not necessary to complete the game. We also do share the system of finding power-ups and loot that are unique to that run and are lost on death. @Fredsg Since you like Isaac I definitely recommend checking out our demo (kinda biased though haha)! I think we've made a fun game that is far more reliant on skill than a grind.
I recently put my game online and a few people have made videos already. The name is called "Rooms" and its a text based puzzle game with semi decent pixel art graphics lol.
You can play it here! - http://gamejolt.com/games/puzzle/rooms-the-game-about-opening-doors/52296/
If you make a video, make sure to tell me so i can subscribe!
This is something I've always wanted to do and now I got the chance :) You would make me very happy if you download it! Download from Google Play
The game is called Rogue Blast Galaxia: Roguelite Survivor and it was inspired by some of my favourite space games such as FTL, Everspace and Freelancer.

It's been a fun challenge to design enemies that have clear AIs but also have interesting counterplays. These guys are a bit tougher so they show up in the later stages of the game.

The gist of the game is a very unusual idea - guessing games in drawings. I drew the pictures by hand (there are more than 300 of them in the game). Some pictures are rebuses, some are simpler in guessing, and some are complicated puzzles.- You can guess each drawing in different ways: you can enter the name of the game by yourself, or guess the game choosing one option from four or six options as the test.- 6 languages: Russian, English, Spanish, French, German and Italian Languages! I hope you will like itLink of my game in google play

Hey Everyone, This was a game my cousin and I poured a lot of hours into. We wanted to make something genuinely challenging, but easy to get into. So we came up with this, Holiday dots! The core of the game is a sliding puzzle, but what makes this game different is that you need to use one peg to help another peg get access to other parts of the board. You need to use the pegs together in order to solve these puzzles.
Right now, it's only available on the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.DefaultCompany.GridGame
Take care of your garden and explore to find new seeds. I will be adding new content in coming weeks, if you have something you would like to see leave a comment.

So I'm relatively new to indie game development and work on my prototypes and projects just during my spare time, unfortunately can't afford to go full indie yet, I suppose this situation is familiar to most indie devs, so I have received some feedback from people and improved/changed certain things and it kind of starts to get some shape. I would call this game as a fast-paced decision making platformer. You have 3 different color energy bars which player needs to maintain charged, so you need to land/jump on cubical island with a crystal of respective color to gain that energy and the idea is to dive into abyss as deep as possible.
If someone of you would like to give it a try, you may download it from GooglePlay:

Hey everyone,
So, I quit my job some time ago and decided to learn Unity and make my own mobile game. So here we go: The 8 is a math puzzle where you have limited time to pick the option that will turn the given number into 8. Answer fast and without mistakes to earn more score, and the questions are endless and get more difficult over time.

I'd appreciate your feedback! If you encounter any errors, also please do let me know, I tried my best to check everything, but it's my first game, so something could've slipped through.
Having published my first game, I've now proven to myself that I can see a project like that through and through, so next time I'll have confidence for something more ambitious. Check it out at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dpav.cubosrun
Indie Treasures has been created to promote Indie games for Android.
The application incorporates a CHAT room, so you can publish the link of your Android game there so that I can add it to the application. You can also use it to announce new updates or even to ask for advice or help. I have added the Chat to talk about topics related to the world of Indie games, so it is not limited to sending links to Android games.
RULES: - The game must be available for Android devices. - The game must not be more than 1 month old. - You can send the link to Google Play if you have already published your game, or Itch.io (or similar) if the game is still in development. - Make sure the game has a minimum of quality. - I reserve the right to add (or not add) any game that does not meet the standards.

It is kind of mixture of space shooters style and snake game. Has 20 levels in total and with a story. Some people think it is an endless runner but it isn't.
Mars is under earth attack and you have to save your fellow Martians from extinction and lead them to the stars.
This is my first game worth publishing.
Any reviews and feedback are appreciated.
I am currently working on a physics based platformer for android. It is the first project I have published and I'm excited with how its turning out. I wanted to make something challenging but simple. The goal of the game is to get to the end of each level without falling off the various obstacles. I incorporated procedurally generated levels and just recently created glass obstacles that can fracture. It's a continuous work in progress to more or less see what I can do in Unity.

I'd be glad to hear a opinion about the game.

Hi all. This is a simple arcade game that I have been working on for the past 6 months.
Move the ball behind your finger and avoid obstacles.
The speed of obstacles gradually increases, slowdown them with simple movements of a finger.
Collect coins and discover new ball styles. More coins - more styles!
Compete with friends: check whose finger is faster!

Hi,
Monogolf is available for free for Android. We will release it for iOS in a couple of weeks.
We call Monogolf the one-shot mini golf. It has 150 levels and a complete level editor we have used to create all the in-game levels. We updated the game last week and added new content.
We also made this trailer for the occasion. We hope you will like it!

I am a solo developer. My advice is build as what you can build.
*Do not build to large you can not finish. *
I have developed 7 little game in my spare time. And Now new one has release, you can download and have try.
Keep games small and make it fun is important. And Almost 1or 2 month to build one game make me feel motivated. When you can handle it, you can turn to some large challenge. Next time I want to make a bigger game that use 3 or 4 month to finish.
It is for mobile game. If you want to steam, maybe it need take a long time , 5 or 8 month to finish.
Hi!
I want to introduce a new game I developed.
It is an easy and simple clicker game with comical, cartoon styled graphics.

I'm always happy to receive any questions or feedback.
It has 100 levels divided by theme (and the mechanics correlated with them). We are already working in more and we plan to release the first additional 20 soon, but if you want to play them you'll need to beat the first 100.
The level editor lets you make every possible level and we plan to release a pack of levels made by the community.

Instead of getting a summer job this year, I decided to spend my time making a mobile game. After 3 months of hard work, Pillar Hop! is finally out!
This is my fourth release, but in my opinion this game is the most well done of them all. I spent every single day developing, drawing and polishing.
Let me know what you think! Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Check out the game here:

I even made the game a website. Check out www.pillarhop.com. (Doesn't work well on mobile devices)
A completely free (no ads, no freemium, free is free) game for the Android app store. No permissions needed.
This is my first game and my pride and joy! Made using Unity. All art and scripting done by me. The music and sounds are all original and made by my fiance.

The small team I am a part of, Sleepyhead Studios, just released our first game! It is an endless shooting-gallery where you aim to get the highest score possible.
Thanks for giving us a look!
I'll be adding more to the job system, things like interviews based on your education/confidence traits etc... So don't worry about that.
Relationships are planned for the game, and who knows, they may be in within the next few weeks ;)
Of course there's more room for gameplay, hopefully there always will be - this is what I've made in 2 days, with a ton more content already added!
If you'd like to play the game, I recently published a test build to the Google Play Store Here
Thanks for your feedback!
Slapping Penguin is a small game where you have to avoid enemies (except when you manage to turn "Ninja") and follow instructions. However, you have to remind that the penguin slap will always be stronger than you!

About the origin of A.R.M, Originally ARM is created for 2-buttons-jam in itch. and one of theme for jam is was an arm.
So I decide to make the title as ARM and I was trying to find cool meaning for that. and finally, A.R.M becomes Absolutely Reliable Machine.

Sorry, the HTML version is sluggish🐌
I currently can't upload a PC version: uploads are temporarily disabled because voting for NOKIA 3310 JAM 2 is in progress. I'll be able to make changes after the jam is over.
Youre feedback made my eyes bigger.. I believe youre right. Thats what I feel about itch.io and gamejolt as well. That you need to be like by the curators to receive success. Sadly I dont think the curators enjoy this kind of games.
I will try emailing/dm them today to hopefully better my chance of getting featured. It never occurred to me that I should.
Can I ask if you've done this before? You seem quite knowledgeable.
Two of the reason why I'm scared to do Steam early access (aside from money) is that I don't know if people would buy my early access, I'm still not sure how much I will price it even. (Stats say $15 is a good price) Another is that how can people find me on steam if my chance on getting featured on itch and gamejolt is already quite low. :( Also if I do steam right now and crowdfund later wouldnt that just hurt my crowd funding?
THANK YOU KITTY!
Its not enough for development. but its enough to make my day. While I do believe that itch.io isnt for everyone (heck i didnt have an account prior to this), I feel like steam might not even be enough to give that push we hoped. Hopefully I can get more clicks and followers by a month so I would be confident to make a steam account.
And I cant believe you saw this on twitter! So I guess my marketting really is improving! I'm so glad!
Again Thank you!

Hey everyone, I worked on this game in April, but my laptop crashed, erasing my hard drive. So I had to rebuild the whole game again, then take it off the App Store and resubmit after a big war with Apple and Google! Yet I am finally finished! Squid Rush is now officially for Android and iPhone to download for free! The game is simple, tap the left or right side of the screen to move across the screen to dodge sharks and collect coins. I added new things from the original game: more squids, sharks, rankings, and awards. I would love your thoughts on the game, like your favorite squid design, high score, rankings, and the awards you've won! If you want to know how to unlock achievements, please click the question mark at the top left of the screen when you download it! If you want to see your high score and rank, please click the trophy at the bottom right! Hope have fun with it!
