This app lets you workout anywhere, any time. I'm a happy paying user and had the author send me discount codes when moving phones where it didn't come across. Just had to pay once again when moving from Android to Apple: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinymission.dailyworkoutsfree&hl=en\_NZ&gl=US
Depends on the person. I loose AND gain weight quite easily. 20 mins works for me.
I lost 7 kgs in 2.5 to 3 months. I use this app: 5 mins of AB, butt, leg and Arm. I do cardio ocasionally.

The free "daily workouts" app(s). They have one for Arms, Legs, Abs, etc. They also have one that encompasses them all (I think, i haven't used it in a year).
I have failed many times trying to work out. Work out for a week or two, see no results and give up. This time i tried with an app. These exercises were great. They got me to place that allowed me to start working out without hurting myself. I started with these apps and told myself that if i did it for a month, 5 days a week, I would Buy the paid version for more exercises.
I did.
After another month, I was in shape enough that I could start a more intense workout plan. After a couple months of that one, I started the routine im on now.
If it wasn't for those apps, I probably would have started too intense and burned out within a week or two.
One of the only apps I ever actually paid for.
I've had good luck with Daily Workouts app. I do yoga/stretch for a few minutes. After choosing how long and what intensity, the app shows me how to do several simple exercises. For example the Cardio section has "jog in place", "squat jumping jacks", and "mountain climber pulls". Simple but effective at getting my heart rate up :)
