They are recontacting exam centres to see if exams can be held. Essentially ICAI shat itself and said things have "changed" between 29/6 and now and that they will have to check with them. Heres something fr finapp. You should check the nrws articles too

Mumbai, Pune - Negative Chennai - Negative Delhi - Negative Hyderabad - Negative Karnataka - on Hold Kolkata - Negative Andhra - on Hold Kerala - Positive Haryana - on Hold Punjab - Negative Gujarat - on Hold Rajasthan - on Hold UP, MP - on Hold
Around 12% centers are positive to conduct exams and 45% are on hold waiting for things to get better.
Few members are of opinion that the statement by the advocate of Institute in earlier SC Hearing that '550 exam centers are ready' is a blatant misrepresentation.

Shared From Finapp July Exams : Communique from Internal Sources: 1. Institute is determined to conduct July exams at any cost. Guidelines already sent to regional offices for procuring Thermal scanners, hand sanitizers etc.
In the next meeting scheduled on 4th July, situations in Covid Hotspots will be assessed. If it is not possible to conduct exam in a particular region, students falling under that region will be transferred to Nov attempt.
The exam committee is hoping large number of students will opt out of this attempt, which will make conducting exams much feasible.
ICAI has not yet communicated with Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra and Tamil Nadu Governments, which account for over 40% of CA students (source- Mr.Suresh Adimulapu's office)
ICAI is yet to take approval from MHA for conducting exams. Issuing notification today without such approval is a surprising move. (Source - PIB)
