Neat. How about we link that up to Google's Assistant, too? I get the impression that Tesla prefers iOS to Android. For a while the iOS app was definitely the better implementation.
Also, I'd love to see Android widgets. I'm using Dashboard for Tesla right now, and it does all kinds of cool stuff.
It works really well for me, but it is pricey as far as apps go.
I paid $18 USD, but they do have a one time free trial.

I have Android and I like this app. I really like that I can set the temp in the morning and when i'm getting out of work. I have it set to do a lot of automatic things. During the hot and cold days its great. I use to forget to preheat or precool the car but now the app just does it.
The tesla preconditioning is trash and turns on at random times for me.
I use an Android App for that : Dashboard for Tesla, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sg57.tesladashboard It can learn how fast the car can charge at each location and will schedule charging automatically for you accordingly.
It isn't free but it implements some automation Tesla is lacking and for me was worth the price. I used it for its camping mode too before Tesla made it dead easy in the center console.
Dashboard for Tesla has an extension called Speed Clocking available for the main app. Does 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc. Not sure where it pulls the data from however. Might be worth a look.
I've decompiled the new app and can verify the new APIs available are few and what is new is not very exciting (close the charge port door).
Tesla does not need to add more APIs to make a better app, they need to make better use of their existing APIs.
The app Dashboard for Tesla for Android has had widgets, touch ID support, and a lot more that the official app doesn't have using the same exact APIs. Things like plug-in reminders, smart charging, camper mode, cabin temperature protection, speed clocking, and more.
Check it out for yourself using the free demo mode, or use the access code 5698 for a free full access trial valid Sunday-only. To enter an access code, press-and-hold the sign-in button for 3 seconds.

Glad to see Tesla making an effort, but I'm a bit underwhelmed by stagnant feature support.

I’m guessing that current speed, location etc. doesn’t need anything other than your phone, but the 0-60 and 1/4 times is what I’m most excited about
Human mods did not remove them. Automod did.
Do you use an android phone? If yes go look at this app. I have been using this app for 2 years. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
Closest I have seen is this, but def not the same.... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sg57.tesladashboard&hl=en_US
This is a monthly fee. A lot of people don't want to pay the monthly fee. Android has app, iOS has a lot more than Android. If you use Google Opinion Rewards you can get the app for free.
Warning this is going to be a bit long.
Best thing I have ever done was sit down and plan out times for my car. You can use VisibleTesla Or if you have android and don't mind paying for an app Dashboard for Tesla. If you have Google Opinion Rewards you can use that money to get the app like I did.
You can set up automatic behaviors. Like this once you have them set up you can do really cool things. I have my car every night go back down to 80% charge at 10 PM. Then in the morning 6:30 AM. I have it set the charge limit to 90% and start the HVAC. This way we heat the battery from charging and running the HVAC. I then have the car turn HVAC on at 3:30 PM when I'm leaving for work. I might turn it on sooner if I see that I have an hour left of work anc check how cold it is outside.
One last thing about your car doing weird stuff at night. Do you have preconditioning turned on in your car?
I turned that shit off because my car would always turn on at random ass times and heat up/cool down for no reason.
I will try to take a crack at this. I can only tell you from what I know from my Model S.
First 3 questions
I have seen myself that chill mode will help with stop and go this way you are not smashing the pedal and using a lot of energy. It will limit the output kinda like valet mode. I use it during the winter because I like to smash the pedal and have fun with my car but during the winter the snow and ice make it not safe to do that.
Standard all the time. I might use low if its really bad with snow and ice as I have seen my S slide a bit sometimes.
Fuck creep mode! Keep that off.
Second 3 questions
I have no idea about that WiFi question. I use my WiFi at work so I can get the updates faster but this would have very little on your power saving (imo).
The car is always on. Just make sure you turn on all your power saving. Uncheck the box that says "always connected" and turn on the save power. (all the power settings do is just take the app longer to connect to the car and the computer will power up slower when you get in the car will still be booting up the screens or well for the 3 it would be screen.)
I use Android and use app. This app is great if you want to preprogram things to happen at certain times. I don't use any other service. If you did use a service make sure that service has a "let car sleep setting" this way the car will be allowed to sleep.
Third 3 questions
I have had my S for 2.5 years and have all been charging daily at 90%. I have seen very little degrade in my battery.
I have seen people only use supercharging and been fine. I have one close to my office but I will not use it unless I need to. I hate when people use local supercharges when they can go home and charge up. I have seen way too many locals using superchargers when I have done road trips.
You said you are only allowed 3 hours of charging at work. If it was me I would use my last 3 hours to charge up my car. This way the battery is ready to go and warmed up. This will also help you in heating up the car and cooling it down. The car will take power from the outlet and not the battery. Oh last thing you now own a Tesla enjoy it and dont think too much about it.
Enjoy!
edit: a word
So a few things that I have found that help:
There are some issues for Tesla to work out with Android and they reported that they were working with Google and Samsung to address the problems.
It's been done by some Android replacements for the Tesla app.

Those are two that I can think of. Yours is prettier.
If you have android check out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sg57.tesladashboard&hl=en_US
I use it for this and https://imgur.com/a/jLxiaBr
