DIGI Clock Widget, you need to go pretty deep into the setting to get the results you want but it's definitely the most stable and customizable one I've used so far
Maybe download a clock widget from the play store.
Heres one I saw with a quick search. I sont use it but it looks like you can change the colors of the text.

That must have been an oversight (or intentional?) change by Samsung, as both the clock app and widget are built by Samsung and don't use the stock Android clock app/widget. The stock Android clock/widget opens the clock app upon tapping the time.
You can install the stock Android clock, which comes with both the analog and digital widgets and use it instead of the Samsung clock (just install it and disable your alarms in the Samsung clock and you don't need to do anything else). This clock is the same as /u/StrobingFlare posted, where the widget launches to the world clock (your local time with a big button to add timezones). You can either swipe right to the alarm tab or tap the alarm tab at the top. The stock Android clock app can be found here.
Otherwise, you can install an app like this. This is just a widget, but it has a lot of customization, including the ability to define what taping on the widget does, including launching the stock Samsung clock app, if you would prefer.
