I've seen a couple of mentions of Etar recently, so I figured I'd try it out. It doesn't appear to have anything like DigiCal's month view. DigiCal combines month and agenda views where it shows the month in the upper part of the screen and a scrolling agenda view in the bottom part.
Here's a screenshot of my view for today.
I really like this view because it combines a good overview of the month with details about events without having to flip between multiple screens. I like that Etar is open source, but I can't switch to it just yet.
DigiCal pretty good, been using it for years

Digical was always my go-to calendar app for years. I especially enjoy their calendar widget and the amount of customization it allows.

Google keep is awesome!
I use google calendar a ton too. (Though I don't like their android app. I use an app called Digical because I like the layout better. There's other options too.)
Everything syncs online and it's pretty seamless between phone and desktop. It just works.
Best equivalent to Fantastical i've found on Android is Digical Calendar. It's actually even better by way of customisation and theming (gotta love them widgets too).

I love using DigiCal and its widgets. Can combine all of your calendars together (google, Facebook, phone, etc). It also has full customizability for the widgets with things like colours, icon and text size, toggleable elements, opacity, and text weight. It also has multiple view types which I find are nice to use 2 widgets at once with. Only downside I've found so far is they are slowing down on updating it because they just released a new app.

I'm in the same boat, so last month I had decided to test drive some other calendar apps.
I've personally kinda settled on DigiCal and have been liking it so far (since it has a half calendar / half agenda view that's kinda similar to Sunrise, which was one of the the main features I liked about Sunrise).
Well, every calendar apps in Android suck! But DigiCal is better than the most apps out there. You can try it.

I use digical and the widget it provides. It's basically Google calendar but with a lot more options. Both my wife and I use it and upgraded to the pay option. It's nice because if either of us adds something to the calendar then it automatically shows up on the other person's phone/calendar...

Lots of offers out there. I've been using Digical for a few years and like it. Check it out. I might move to Any.do because of the Tasks tho.
I use Digical and Google calendar for appointments. Then for my todo list I use Todotxt.com format so Simpletask this works the best for me with two widgets I have my calendar and todo list right on my home screen. An added bonus with simpletask I can add a task to my calendar as an appointment.
I'm not sure which sports team calendar you need but I remember DigiCal had public calendars for things like that.
From their Play Store description: > ⚽ Subscribe to our public calendars using our calendar catalog! Don't miss out on another holiday, sports event or favorite TV show again.
After trying many myself, I ended up with DigiCal. I use it solely for the month widget. You can see most of the widgets in the screenshots on the Play Store page.
I use Digical
DigiCal - best app so far, can everything Google's cal can and lot of customization :d
Calendar - DigiCal: Plenty of features
ToDo - Google Tasks: I like the simplicity of the widget
File manager - Solid Explorer
PDF - Moon Reader
I really like Digical: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendar
It has great flexibility and many widgets
You could try this calendar app. I've never used it but it looks very customizable:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendar
I like to use mostly Google apps for everything. Google Maps, Google Photos to backup your photos and videos, Google Play Music for audio/podcasts. Google Keep is great for grocery lists or notes, and you can share them with others, such as a grocery list with a significant other.
Google Opinion Rewards is a nice app if you don't mind answering surveys about things like where you recently shopped, and it will give you little bits of money to use for purchasing apps.
I personally don't like the Facebook app, so I use Swift for Facebook Lite. It's essentially a wrapper on the mobile Facebook site. Way less bloated.
This is a little more in depth and difficult, but if you find the camera to be too slow, there is a modified camera app called Camera NX that reduces shutter lag. I wouldn't mess with this unless you're having major issues, because it requires manually installation and manual future updates. https://chromloop.com/category/android-download/
> calendar app
DigiCal looks similar to Google Calendar and seems to work well. Specialized calendars require a yearly subscription though.
> good app to sync office 365 mail inbox
> a screen recorder
> an irc app
I prefer IRCCloud as it seems to be the prettiest and well optimized for mobile. Drawback is that it needs an account (and subscription for more features) as it saves and syncs conversations with their servers.
Other Material and local alternatives include AndroIRC, HoloIRC and Hermes.
> a wap browser
But why?
>a scripting-phone-automation app
Tasker? Mostly UI-based but can be "scripted" for advanced stuff.
>and third party youtube app
NewPipe or SkyTube. Neither work with accounts unfortunately.
Digical Calendar keeps me in school. Having a calendar that's pleasant to use helps me out so much and keeps me organized--I probably really would struggle in life without it. Looks great and clean, super customizable, quality widget options, can do everything I want and then some.
Drastic DS Emulator is also incredibly worth it. It's incredibly smooth-running and full-featured.
And Reddit is Fun pro version, of course.
There are other paid apps I didn't mind paying for, but these three that are instant-installs for me when I'm starting fresh.
I like DigiCal. The widget customisation options are really good - especially if you get the paid version.

I like Digical. Mostly because I like the layout and dark theme.
Digical, especially the "week view"

I hadn't noticed as it still work flawlessly. On 7.0 at least.
DigiCal has some decent widgets too.
I'm not sure if digical uses forecast.io but it does display the weather.
List made using List My Apps
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendar has it too. Might be the one I was remembering.
Hey, Its Digical
DigiCal is by far the best calendar app on Android. Highly customizable widgets as well.
DigiCal has nice customizable widgets.
I read this book long long ago https://gettingthingsdone.com/
Getting Things Done - aka GTD - has been the most important tool I have ever used. I need organization and lists for just about every single thing I do on a daily basis. If I don't have that, everything just falls apart.
I have tried sssooo many apps and web services over the years. Some are good, some are shit, and I've narrowed it all down to just a few.
I have a Google Mini speaker in my room. I use that throughout the day. Set a quick reminder, timer/countdown, alarm clock, Spotify launcher, weather checker. Any interaction is complete in seconds, so I don't forget.
For urgent tasks that require immediate action, I have a shortcut on my phone homescreen to send a text to myself. Example: I'm doing dishes and my kid texts me that she does not have after school club, so I can pick her up earlier at her regular time. I quickly send myself that text (speech to text), and leave the notification. Set a quick 10 minute timer (another shortcut). and continue doing dishes. 90% of the time, I forget that she texted me and that i have to leave early. 10 minutes later my timer goes off and I check my self-text notification, OH SHIT, CAN'T FORGET MY KID!!! and I get ready, while talking to myself (again), "Pick up my kid. Pick up my kid. Pick up my kid." My roomates are used to my quirks and so are my kids. And sometimes my kid will text me again, so i don't forget lol.
I am unmedicated and have managed to do pretty well so far. But I absolutely still struggle with my shitty memory and poor sleep.
You could try a different app. I use Digical and it has a ton of UI options that may help you.
Digical - nice customizable widgets
DigiCal is probably the best one out there.
I used Digical for the longest time: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendar
I also used Today for a while: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.underwood.calendar
But now I use Outlook because of work: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.outlook
Digical! It has a great agenda widget & def worth the pro version (Android)
Digical Calendar has the option to add pro sports schedules.

I'm using DigiCal which looks like Google Calendar too. Turned off GCal sync, used Fruux calendar and done.
Digical is great: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendar
I really like DigiCal for the scrollable calendar widget. Has weather forecast, location shortcuts etc.
My calendar app of choice is DigiCal+. I never looked back!
I've been using Digical+ for a long time and like it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.calendar
> I'm astonished at how poor the available options are.
You just haven't looked hard enough. :)
