If anyone is curious, I made this in the Dev Kit, and they're just doing the "lay egg" animation. (Which I think is also the poop animation).
I was originally wanting to do a video of 100K dodo birds fighting a rex, thinking that eventually they would win, but I couldn't figure out how to get them to spawn the way I wanted without crashing my computer. Unreal Engine is powerful, but there's quite a learning curve!
Oh, and the 100,000 downloads is referring to iOS and Android combined. :)
Hey guys! I just launched Dododex's Stat Calculator. This has been one of the top requested features, and I gathered a lot of feedback on what people want to see in a stat calculator.
A lot of the feedback I heard was that stat calculators are a bit confusing to newer users, and that it would be helpful if it was more visual. For newer users, it took people a while to understand how stat points actually work in the game calculators work and what to do with the data.
I tried to make this calculator visual and intuitive so it's easy to distinguish how the stats were distributed to a creature. Dododex also gives you a "above average" or "below average" rating to make it easy to determine if a stat received a lot of points.
I also tried to make it as easy as possible to enter your stats, so you can use the +/- buttons to easily tap to your creature's stats, rather than typing them in yourself.
This stat calculator is also in the latest version of Dododex for iOS and Android, which was just released a few hours ago.
Would love to hear player's feedback! :)
I'm on Android and I use Dododex https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.danlev.dododex
It's awesome. Shows you the amount of hits from weapons to knock out a dino and lets you add your own weapons for stronger drops. Also, let's you change your taming settings to match your server so you know exactly how long it will take.
For iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dododex-taming-calculator/id1071311292?mt=8
Now available on iOS and Android.
If anyone develops any cool shortcuts or anything with the dododex://
URLs, let me know! :)
Note on Old Kibble: Old Kibbles are being added back into the app one-by-one, so not all of them are in yet. I'm about halfway through, but I'm hoping to add them all in over the next few days. (It's a little time consuming because I have to redo a lot of work that I undid when the Rework went live. )

Download DodoDex on your phone, you can search a dino, set it's level, and put in its stats and it will tell you what is below average, average, and above average. Edit: here's a download link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.danlev.dododex
Meat calculators will definitely be in a future version.
A paid version is available in the iOS and Android versions, but there's no donations or anything set up for the website at the moment, thanks so much for the thought! :)
The ability to change weapon % is something I plan on adding to the website eventually. It's already available in the apps however. :)
Didn't get to finish this as fast as I hoped, but a 4am patch is tough to stay up for. :P
This only includes violent taming (non-violent is coming soon) -- will be including a toggle for it in the next version of the app. :)
I'm pretty confident about these estimates in comparison to other Dododex estimates I've done. The Kibble estimates, taming effectiveness, and timing have been verified on a handful of levels. Any other levels shouldn't be off by more than 1 or two, but if they are, please let me know! Didn't do full testing on the berries or crops, however, but they seemed to be in the ballpark range when I did some quick tests.
The Diplodocus is already on the iOS/Android apps, but if you're not seeing the data, you can force update to the latest data by going to Settings > Check for New Data. :)
Hands down best app for calculating needed supplies for tames. Tells you favorite kibble and the recipe for making it. You can adjust the settings for whatever your modifiers are for taming by going to the setting button on the bottom of the page

Here’s the link: Dododex on Android
It just launched an hour ago, so it may take a minute to show up in the App Store. Sometimes if you force close the App Store it’ll update.
Dododex v2 is finally here! Get it now on iOS and Android.

I just wanted to share a sincere thank you to everyone who’s supported the Dododex app, and the continuous support from r/playark. As a single developer building Dododex, the app has literally changed my life. I started it as a simple, single-screen iOS app that I thought would be a “fun little side project” and It’s evolved into what’s almost becoming a full-time job of building and maintaining the app on 3 platforms (iOS / Android / Web) — and I can’t be more thankful.
I just wanted to say how amazing the Ark community is. People are constantly sharing their taming data, pointing out specific data errors when they’re off by one Raw Meat, volunteering to test and debug the app, writing elaborate suggestions for new features, contributing thousands of ratings, sharing amazing (and often hilarious) tips, volunteering to translate the app into their language.
I threw together these stats that I thought some people might find interesting! :)
(Also, since a lot of people have been asking, v1.12 of the app — with built-in 2x multipliers — was submitted to Apple last night and will likely be released on iOS and Android within the next day or so!)
Hey guys, this version to wayyy longer than I wanted to, but it's finally here! The major features are:
This new version is available on Dododex for iOS and Dododex for Android. Some features are already on the web taming calculator, but more will be coming.
What would you like to see next?
I always love hearing user feedback, and I have a ton of features in the pipeline based on user requests! Please let me know what you'd like me to work on next!
One of the top requests I’ve been getting since the last Ark patch was to build a Troodon taming calculator. Since the Troodon is a completely new taming method, I had to build this from the ground up since it didn't work in Dododex's existing taming setup.
The Troodon taming calculator lets you plan out your sacrifices and shows you how much XP is still needed to tame the Troodon. It shows you the minimum level of each dino you’ll need, and if more than one, what levels of each. It also lets you toggle between night vs. day taming.
I did a ton of in-game testing that involved throwing tons of dodos into a Troodon pit.
Some things I learned:
This calculator is also now available in the Dododex Android App. The iOS app will be submitted to Apple tonight (may take a day to approve).
Hey guys! Dododex v1.12 for iOS and Android are now live!

WHAT'S COMING NEXT:
Hey guys! Just launched v1.6 of Dododex, including some highly requested features -- quite a few from Redditors:
Edit: Download links: Dododex for iOS, Dododex for Android
A little over a month ago, I asked Redditors to rate the gathering efficiency of every creature and resource. I also added rating prompts to the Dododex taming calculator. I was blown away by how many ratings came in -- over 125,000 from 11,000 players!
This feature was included in last week's update to the iOS and Android apps, but now it's available on Dododex.com for people who prefer using a browser.
To find a creature's top resources, simply search for it on Dododex (example: Pteranodon, Rex) and look at the "Gathering Efficiency" section. This will highlight a creatures top resources and also indicate when a creature is ranked in the top 5 gatherers for that resource.
If you have any feedback, or other related features you'd like to see, please let me know! If you disagree with any ratings, please visit the creature's Dododex profile and rate them! :)
Notes:
Just spent the past 3 hours tranqing, killing, and feeding herds of bears in an inhumane grid of jail cells and added estimates to Dododex's taming calculator.
Direbear KOs were tested as well so that data is available too. :)
To update your Dododex iOS or Android app, go to Settings > Check for New Data and it'll pull the Direbear and Manta (Manta doesn't have taming data yet — I'll probably have to wait for the Dev Kit values for that one.)
Notes / Disclaimers
Remember that these are estimates, so make sure to bring extra supplies just in case. :)
Please feel free to report any errors!
A new version of the Dododex Taming Calculator for iOS and Android has been released.
I’ve never been so excited for a version of the app before than this version. It includes a new "Player Tips" feature, which is Dododex's first truly collaborative feature. Players can now share insightful tips and strategies about each creature; how to tame them, KO strategies, how to battle them, and tips on how they can be used after taming.
With this new feature, I’m also running a contest to submit the best tip, and the winner gets $100 USD in Steam or Xbox credit. The contest ends on October 31st, 2016. The full contest details, rules, and judging criteria is available in the app.
This version also includes Chinese, Russian, and Spanish translations, provided by some amazing volunteers: Fernando Román Gracia Crespo (Spanish) 侏罗纪汉化组:Heavensn(波仔)、QQ南极企鹅、Benzema星, AsH (Chinese), and Daladin & Demon (Russian). I'm also looking for players who know Polish, Dutch and Swedish to help translate!
I'd love to hear your feedback on the new Player Tips feature! And I'm planning out Dododex v1.11 now, so if you have ideas for features you'd like to see, I'd love to hear them!
After some delays, including tech issues on Android, and I had jury duty for 4 weeks so my free time was limited, Dododex v1.8 is now available on both platforms! (This was made available on iOS earlier.)
The major change in this version is the navigation. All features are available from a hamburger menu, including charts (kibble chart, carryable creatures list, damage modifiers chart) and maps. You can also easily access settings, which was a bit hard to find previously since it was way at the bottom of the app.
This version includes recipes for consumables (Mindwipe Tonic, Broth of Enlightenment, etc.) as well as dyes.
I'm particularly excited about the Dyes feature, which I designed a color picker style interface so that you can easily tap on a color to see the recipe, without any scrolling or loading.
All recipes (for consumables or dyes) can be increased in quantity, so that you can create large batches -- particularly useful for dyes.
There's also a "Wiki Shortcuts & Links" feature that give you quick links to useful external pages.
There's a handful of other smaller changes, including clickable creature icons, map loading & interaction improvements, and buttons on the stat calculator that allow you to increment or reset the calculator.

One of the top Dododex user requests I’ve been getting is for a better admin commands feature, so I spent the last two weeks revamping it. It’s now available on Web and the iOS and Android apps.
The new version includes:
Mod Support: While there are no mods in the initial launch, I’m looking for developer of popular mods to add their dinos or items to Dododex’s system. If you want to contribute, please let me know!
Please share your feedback! If there’s anything that makes this tool less than perfect for you, please let me know!
There’s a bunch more I want to do to this tool to make it even easier to access commands, but I’ll be spending the next month or so working on Dododex v2. :)
Here are all the links. :)
As /u/Captrad_ said, Dododex is a taming calculator app for iOS and Android.
Made this as a promo to use in the App Stores. :)
It was really fun to make -- adjusting the models and adding the blue and purple lights on the Dodo to make his feathers shine. Pulled it into Photoshop after to touch it up. Here's the before and after.
It was meant to look like the Dodo killed the Rex -- not sure if that completely comes across like that. Haha.
This is a new feature I've been working on for Dododex. It lists consumables and dyes and the recipes, effects, and stats for each. It also includes a quantity feature for people (like me) who craft a bunch of recipes in bulk, so it'll show you the ingredients needed for making a larger quantity of items.
I'm really excited about the dyes feature. I tried to build my ideal dye feature because I wasn't happy with the existing ones. There's been a lot of times where I've used the wiki (or image-based charts made by players) and I've ended up making the wrong dye because the recipe was hard to distinguish, or it's in a table format and it's easy to look at the wrong row/column. I end up running back and forth to my garden to get the correct berries/ingredients.
This dye feature lets you simply tap on the color like a color picker to see the recipe. Just like the consumables feature, it also lets you increase the quantity of the recipe for bulk cooking. :)
I'm aiming to launch this feature next week on iOS and Android.
Would love to hear any feedback! :)
After some initial hiccups with Apple, Dododex v1.7 is now fully released!
If you're not familiar, the Dododex Taming Calculator is an Ark companion app for iOS and Android.
Dododex Pro, the ad-free version of the app, is now available, though it may take a few moments for it to be available for all iOS users (it's confirmed working in US and UK).
Would love to hear your feedback on the new features!
I prioritize new features based on user interest, so if you really want a feature in the app, please submit it or upvote and existing post on Dododex's feature suggestions list. I use this list to build the roadmap of the app. :)
Hey guys! I just finished up version 1.11 of Dododex! This was released earlier last week on iOS and just hit the Google Play store a few minutes ago. (Sorry Android users, I usually try to launch them at the same time, but I had some personal stuff come up over the weekend!)
This version includes Push Notifications for timers, which has been a highly popular request.
The other major feature is the admin/spawn commands search. I designed this to be my ideal search for how I use admin commands, and I gathered some feedback from other players, but I’d love to hear what changes you’d like to see to make this YOUR ideal admin command tool. (This will be coming to dododex.com very soon — I know a lot of people would rather use it there.)

What do you want to see next?
I’d love to hear what you guys want to see next! I already have a laundry list of feature ideas that could last me through 2017, but I feel like I got through a lot of the major features that people really wanted. (Other than breeding, which I may wait until Ark's next patch to start working on since there may be some major breeding changes.)
Hey guys! I finally finished Dododex v2.2. It's now available on iOS! Android is coming soon.*
What's New
Bug Fixes:
*Android coming soon: Normally, I launch iOS and Android at the same time, but I made a lot of "backend" changes to the app that's making it take a while to port to Android. I hate to make Android users wait, but so many people are asking for X-creature support that I thought it'd be best to just release iOS for now. I'll share an ETA on Twitter when I know more!
Hey guys. Here's a sneak preview of Dododex v2.2's KO calculator!
Here's what's new:
ETA:
Dododex.com -- it's a companion app I made for ARK.
Here's all the new features in the latest version of Dododex on iOS and Android:
Breeding Timers
Thanks to everyone's feedback earlier this year! Breeding timers are now here! I'm really happy with the way these turned out -- based on a ton of feedback from users, including an extensive survey. Please note that this is the first version, so let me know if you run into any bugs!
Dododex Stories
This new tips category lets you share memorable moments, wild encounters, or even fan fiction about your favorite dinos. A lot of players have been sharing amazing ARK stories through Dododex, so I created a specific category for them.
WHAT'S NEW:
Over-the-air updates that happened since the last update:
BUG FIXES:
Heya! You can try my app, Dododex, which is also on iOS and Android. It's up to date with every creature in the game, including the new Genesis X-Creature support, the Crystal Isles map, and I'm getting ready to add any new dinos from Crystal Isles on Friday.
And I'm working on new Breeding Timers feature that I'm hoping to release by this weekend, if everything goes according to plan. :)
Hey guys! This update took a bit longer to get to Android, but it's finally available! (iOS users got it earlier)! It just rolled out, so check your Google Play Store updates if you haven't gotten it yet.
In case you missed the update when I shared the iOS update.
What's New
Bug Fixes:
Hey guys!
Really excited to share a major update to Dododex's KO calculator, featuring:
ETA: These features (apart from the X-creatures, which is coming within a few days) are already available on the iOS beta. Android will be coming once I finalize the iOS Beta, and begin porting it to Android. I don't have an estimate of how long this take, but I'm hoping I can have it done by the end of the month.
Just finished testing the Pelagornis and added it to Dododex.
If you use the iOS or Android app, and you're not seeing the taming info, you can go to Settings > Check for New Data (otherwise it'll update automatically in a few hours).
Note that I haven't thoroughly tested taming with Fish Meat, so please let me know if anything is off. And be sure to bring extra food/narcs since these are just estimates.
Will do the Allosaurus tomorrow! :)
Threw together this Kibble flow chart because I felt like there was a lack of good flow charts on the web. There's been a few images that some players have made, but those soon get outdated when a new creature is added. It works on mobile too. On Desktop, you can rollover a creature to highlight its relationships.
I wanted a Kibble flow chart with actual creature pictures -- the icons on the Wiki and other charts use are hard to easily distinguish the creatures. And if you're a new player, you might not be as familiar with the creature names.
I spent last weekend in the Dev Kit posing every creature, and taking screenshots to use these images will be in the next version of the Dododex taming calculator for iOS and Android -- a lot of users have asked for this, especially for new players and non-English speakers.
Would love to hear any feedback you have on the flowchart and how it can be made better! There's also a Kibble list view in case you prefer something a little simpler.
