It's one of the first or arguably the first JRPG. The art was done by Akira Toriyama who is known for the Dragon Ball series.

Highly recommended for people who like Pokemon and Final Fantasy.

It's just a port of the mobile games which we already have in thew west.

Dragon Quest - iTunes or Andriod. Exact same game we played back on the NES, but with updated graphics!

Based on some of the responses here, I'm sorry if people misunderstood. I didn't mean to imply that the games are on sale, only that they are for sale. I only meant to put together a list of games that are available directly from US stores, as opposed to older games that are only available from aftermarket sources.
 
I should clarify that I don't think Dragon Quest VII on Android/iOS is available outside Japan. All the other games are available in North America and I assume Europe.
 
There are many Dragon Quest games only available in Japan that are not on this list, such as Dragon Quest X.

It's just the first Dragon Quest.

A remake already exists on mobile phones.

There's also a translation patch available for the Super Famicom version.

If you don't mind a different art style, the fan remake might be more to your liking.

You have the option of Heroes on Steam...

And JUST BLOODY PLAY ON THE PHONE PLATFORM.

So many people whine about touch controls and it's retarded. It works well with DQ, almost frighteningly so.

Get a tablet or something dude, and buy DQ1-6 off of mobile, then buy Adventures of Mana and Romancing Saga 2.

A "silly old phone" can do a lot more for DQ than you think. It's why we're getting DQ Builders and the ports of 7 and 8. The success of both the mobile ports and Heroes have put considerable interest in the series again, and we win.
