You mean the Eve Portal app? It was dead on arrival.
Do yourself a favor, use Evanova which has all the features you are asking for.
Thanks for the appreciation. It really is encouraging. While fun and exciting, making this app takes a lot of time and effort.
About the lack of a fitting tool:
It is a very difficult exercise for many reasons, and very hard to maintain across patches, as seen with Eve Droid. While I do have some experimental code stashed on the side, I have chosen to avoid it and spend time on features that other applications don't have and that I feel are useful to a majority of players.
Also great timing for the post, Evanova is 4 years old in a week :)
Cheers
Evanova
PS: I am taking some holiday so don't expect an update before August.
For Android:
The author stated he was no longer updating Eve Droid and indeed it hasn't since January or so. I'm afraid Evanova is your only hope on the Android side at the moment.
Evanova is the one I use now.

Eve Droid has a better fittings management, but is missing most of what Evanova has.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.alxb.evedroid
To be fair since saving Osmium to my folder, I haven't bothered with fittings for either.
CCP Eve app is little more than a placeholder, but the only option for in game mail. Other than viewing the current ship, ISK, and next 5 skills in queue it doesn't do anything. Basically a waste right now, but we all need to use it so they gather data and see an real interest. If we all say fuck it, so will CCP.
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I see a lot of "Want Android version". What is in NeoCom that is not in Evanova and that you guys would like to see?
Try Evanova.
It's the most featured one at the moment and I'm working on an update. You can also easily reach me if you need some help.
Most apps haven't been updated in a long time. I heard Jump Gate should have one for November.
I should push an update to Evanova but I'm too lazy to test it properly. Welp.
1 - You need to move things around and want to check if you can jump without incurring horrible jump re-activation times.
2 - You have a CTA and you're not sure if your timer will clear up before a fleet form-up / jump to wherever. Yes, F4R brawlers, that is me.
3 - You like to stare at the selection screen.
OP could use apps like Evanova though (not at all a shameless plug), which has this sort of information.
I'll take your money anytime if you don't need it.
Hum, no wait, that's a lie. I don't want your money, give it to a charity.
Nope, leave Evanova alone!
On a more serious note, it's most likely unfeasible to port an IOS application to Android without degrading the quality of both by using intermediary frameworks. Otherwise, a "port" is basically rewriting it for Android.
Of course if Arthem (the Neocom author) wants to join forces, I'd be glad to match features with Neocom...but I know we are both way too busy for that. [EDIT] He's already helping me understand some part of the code we share.
Also the fitting tool is a b....
That's the caveeat with the CCP application. It only uses the recent ESI API which relies on your login and account, and not an API key.
I am working on an update of Evanova that will combine both:
You will be able to use API keys as well as CREST, so your friends can either log in once on your tablet or provide you with an API key.
Also note that CREST has some limitations that are worked around by the new ESI, but features used in CCP app aren't available to developers yet, as far as I am aware (like writing mails).
Evanova You should really try it - it's good (TM)
That is somehow my opinion too, although you don't really need much more "expertise" than CCP already has to come up with something good. Also, CCP Seagull mentioned at FF2016 that they were staffing accordingly. Add to it that they already have all the assets they would ever need, expertise is not a daunting issue.
One drawback of letting "everyone build an app" is consistency: if you look at the Android store, there are many "Eve" apps, most of which haven't been updated in ages; they don't look remotely similar and each one is a mix of good and bad features. It is better on IOS since Neocom is largely dominating but that's it.
In this regard, CCP most likely didn't help by announcing a mobile application - they gave application authors the idea that the end was near for custom apps, delivered nothing but discouragement to app authors.
Another issue is scalability: it is fine to have 15K-20K users online, doing some things. That's a whole lot of new troubles when you have 50K+ mobile subscribers doing things all the time. This same scalability issue arises as the API allows for more and more features. That's a solvable issue though but it takes more than a finger snap.
Now, as an app author, following changes in Eve, adding/modifying features is very hard and demanding, and eats up a lot of time and resources. Given the current state of existing apps, it is no longer possible to be "that one guy" in his garage creating an app that has enough value to be worth the effort. CCP wins here by having a team, but we're still waiting :P

It is nice to hear that something you would consider a hobby or just fun stuff to do gets you something in return. I myself got some contracting jobs after showing off Evanova in interviews.
If you really like what you do, you'll do it well, and it'll always pay off one way or another.
Please add Evanova to the list. It's the most complete and up to date Android application these days and most likely the oldest one still alive.
Evanova is updated regularly (usually following a patch day) but as for the fitting tool...yeah, working on it (TM). It is still better now than before since it could barely be worse :D
Evanova on Android. It has pretty colours and lots of features (very useful for corporations for instance).
Don't mind the fitting tool. Pretend it does not exist. It's a work in progress.
Evanova on Android won't try to sell you PLEX.
I am working on a brand new separated fitting tool, if anyone likes Android UI headaches, I'd love to hear from ya!
I am regularly updating Evanova on Android which has a fitting tool among many other features (way more than Eve Portal, really). It's also the only Android app being updated as far as I can reckon.
I'll keep Evanova updated until Eve Portal gets real (CCP please can you at least support multiple characters???), a lot of people use it and feedback is still good :)
I find Evanova much better than Eve Portal if you're on Android. Also, I hear from the author a Korean translation is coming (still waiting for an update to the SDE though)
Yeah, I'm totally not biased :)
Obligatory Me (Evanova) post if you're looking for an Android app.
Update coming..ahem...in a while but the other apps are MIA.
Me! Evanova
I also apologize to everyone for the lack of updates lately. I am cooking up a new version built with newer code. Anyone wants to help?
Edit: link
You are right, there are a lot of cool things that could be done with a mobile device - minigames sound awesome. Now CCP lore is that they want to keep you in-game rather than other alternatives of interacting with Eve Online. it makes sense.
You are also right it's a labour of love. I think high quality apps for Eve need so many features that is it terribly hard for single developers to do. From what I know, on the Android side, every Eve app is made by 1 person.
By my own experience, I lack in artistic skills and time to polish the UI and my interest is really in coding, not polishing; that ends up with apps that aren't totally pristine or downright boring.
Regarding Evanova and SSO crashes, I am working on those issues and better integration with ESI. I'm losing ships and my hair on this; send shampoo.
Updated regularly, cool UI, synchronize your fittings with Eve, let you reply to mails (sending coming soon) and even has fitting tool crashes!
I don't know, what do you think? I like to trade mine with fun ;-)
Evanova >> Free of ads, registration or such obstruction to your usage: only send your ISK donations in-game to "Evanova Android" if you want to express your appreciation. Monetary donations should go to a charity of your choice instead.
Also, managing the few revenues from ads in niche apps like ours is also time consuming when you start thinking about taxes, accounting, etc. It's rarely worth it. I don't know anyone in our space who actually made enough to keep things going.
I maintain Evanova, an Android app for Eve Online. I would totally build one for Elite if they had an API (Application Programming Interface) like Eve Online does.
If there is one thing that CCP (the editor) did right is providing an API. There are tons of tools built around it. What they also did right is avoid building those tools themselves, which removes the additional cost/time to develop them.
Frontier should really think about doing that.
> No! What are you doing!? Evanova is the best! /u/evanova
No! What are you doing!? Evanova is the best!
Linky!
Actually I do need really need one as well as some other Play Store shots/redesign.
My app is Evanova - a niche app for Eve Online players.
You will be loved for doing some re-design :)
Let's see how it's capable of, but so far call me mildly impressed unless ship spinning on a mobile is really your thing.
I'll stick to Evanova until I see it. I'll be updating it in a few hours.
Well, Evanova shows you all that (way more) and notifies you on your queue and mails. If you want more notification spam, let me know - it can always be added if it makes sense.
>I hope the apps continue development and if you want to see things like EvEnova get better consider buying or donating to the makers.
While I can only speak for myself, donations or else aren't really the limiting factor here. It's much more a matter of time and available resources. Things like fitting tools are also quite technically challenging.
Damn, I'm too late, I've been looking for someone to help designing proper icons for this application. Please let me know if you are interested although you're busy.
Me! Evanova
Last update is kinda old but I'm rebuilding it for ESI; it will take a while.
Help wanted :)
They look very nice. May I ask for the authorization to use them in Evanova as alternative backgrounds (maybe)?
Note: I may be a little biased.
Hello?! Is this me you're looking for?
Check out Evanova for some widget galore. I am open for ideas on new ones too.
Try Evanova. I try to update it, fix it and enhance it as often as I can.
Then there is Evanova which has what you're asking for.
Never not use Evanova
Evanova App, best app - in my totally biased opinion.
You can try the one in Evanova. It's not perfect, I'm working on it in my spare time, among other things.
This is awesome.
Looks like there is going to be some update to Evanova earlier than I expected.
Mid-August for a beta they said at Fanfest. Yeah...I'm not complaining.

I wish I could integrate this in Evanova. Would you be willing to?
The fitting tool sucks though. I'm rewriting it.
I won't let this happen to Evanova. While I'm kind of taking a break, I'll make sure it will still be functional.
Also people, tell CCP to stop breaking their things, it breaks our things too.
I'm using Evanova. Works great.

Sure. Is it this app or have different one?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tlabs.android.evanova
I beg to differ!
I send my in-game mails using my own Evanova food.
I tend to disagree about its greatness. Besides the ability to send mails, it doesn't have much to show for.
So far, the 3rd-party ones are still way better in my opinion (no, I am totally not biased!).
Here's the ones that are still much alive (Android only)
You will also find a number of interesting Eve related tools by looking around.
I wish I had that much feedback on Evanova. Hit me with your wall of text buddy!
YOU ARE ALL A BUNCH OF CHEAP STICKS AND UNGRATEFUL WRENCHES. ALSO I HATE FITTING TOOLS.
Brought to you by Evanova
