This is a Sony in a custom mount. The light sensor and the micro usb port give it away.
edit: slick video
edit 2: so many questions! Is strava actually going to update the android wear app?
How is the canyon unit going to connect to bt sensors when the profiles aren't in android wear? And why have I not heard of komoot before?
edit 3: looks like they're not promoting it as a fully stand-alone device, so any cadence/speed and power sensors will connect to your phone, not directly to the ~~sw3~~canyon computer.
I guess the delay until release in spring is to get the software sorted.
I bought a subscription to Komoot, which is really good although I suspect somewhat incomplete. Useful for hiking, walking and cycling all around Europe. You can use it for free as well, but I think you get only a limited area region and limited off-line options like that.
Right in time, as Viewranger users more and more are forced to switch to the expensive "partner" app Outdooractive, I detected that the Kommot App is finally available for my Casio watch.
Easily installed from Playstore on my Phone ("install on other devices")... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.komoot.android
Maybe I have the possibility at weekend to try it our! 😊
Any feedback of G-Shockers about the availability on their watch would be fine!
Yesterday Komoot was recommended to me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.komoot.android
It seems to have an extensive map of even the smallest paths and some routes shared by people. This will make it easier not to suddenly end up in the backyard of a farmhouse.
Been using this app for some rides. It has worked....but honestly...it's been a bit time more time consuming that I'd like to build a ride
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.komoot.android
On fancier Garmins (have vivoactive hr) you can also build a ride in Connect. Have not tried it though.
I would recommend Komoot and their app. Komoot doesn't focus on sports. E.g. you can't compare your speed with other users or race against yourself. Komoot focuses on planning tours and finding your way using the app for navigation.
I use Komoot quite often for cycling (race bike and mtb), but you can use the service also for hiking and running. The map is based on OpenStreetMap, but you can switch also to the vanilla OSM, to OpenCylceMap, Google Maps and Google Satellite.
The navigation works very good, just like turn by turn navigation in a car. On a road bike I usually don't turn on the display. Most of the time the directions like "In 100 meters turn left" are loud enough. This way I can go about 5 to 6 hours without recharging my phone.
I find Komoot very useful. Bicycle roads are marked green.

Komoot is pretty much the best option by far.
I used Komoot but it is not optimized :( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.komoot.android&hl=en&gl=US
I quite like komoot. Play link
Have you tried komoot?

It's what I use to log and plan my routes.
Try komoot, it is a great community to find group: https://www.komoot.com/
There is also an Android app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.komoot.android
And an Apple App: https://apps.apple.com/it/app/komoot-ciclismo-e-escursioni/id447374873
I think Komoot might have an option like that in its planning section. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.komoot.android
Eu folosesc Komoot (Android) . Mi-am cumpărat harta pentru România. Si imi import traseele, sau le fac singur.
There's also the Kölner Weg if you're in for some serious commitment to hiking… and in general, the Bergische Land is just chock full of stuff.
There's also some services using OpenStreepMap for hiking which you can use for general inspiration, like Waymarked Trails and the Hike 'n' Bike map.
There's also an appy service called Komoot which features a lot of stuff in the area.
