Check Lecture Notes. It has a steeper learning curve, but man this app has options! And one thing they do very well: every time you switch away it autosaves (on top of the periodic autosave).
Amongst the many things I like about LN:
I would set aside a day or two to discover all the app, but once you set it up the way you like it you won't want to use any other note taking app
For note taking I love lecture notes it is the dream app for a geek like me who loves control. That app is powerful, extremely flexible, and best of all open. I set up dropsync to backup all my notes to my dropbox, they are simple PNG files btw, but you can export to PDF too.
Other things I clip with the s-pen I simply save to different folders in my dropbox, though I am just in the process of moving these to google drive, because it lets me edit the file name of the clipped image before saving.
I will have all my stuff even if I switch brands (likely unless Samsung puts back the SDCard into the Note line)
I love Lecture Notes! It offers a ton of flexibility and the developers are quick to respond any time I've had an issue. Check out the free trial version. If you're in the US (or a few other countries), sign up for Google Opinion Rewards to earn Play Store credit which you can use to buy the app.

It is packed with a lot of features for you to explore in a simple UI.
Lecture Notes is great. I think you only have a limited number of notebooks with the free version though
