it's free with android. I use the free Libera Reader
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobnix.pdf.reader&hl=en_US&gl=US
You select text to speech and then go into settings and select language etc and it downloads the files it needs. I like one of the UK female voices but there are hundreds to choose some. Some are really funny you can have a book read with a French accent or Hindi or you name it.
my coping mechanism.. is kind of strange but i use android epub book reader
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobnix.pdf.reader&hl=en_US&gl=US
with google text to speech (the UK woman's voice but there a lot of choices) and have it read me books at a pretty low volume while i'm working. you can still respond when someone bugs you but the general background noises are not as noticeable. Also it'a mechanical (ish) voice so there are no mouth noises or breath noises and I get to listen to a cool story while working.
So that's what I do.. dono if it will work for you.. best of luck
You can try Librera Reader with Google Keep or other cloud apps. You can configure to open selected words in Google Keep or Color Note or other application. In one click you can select word or quotes/paragraphs and send it to any app like dictionary or cloud. It's the most simple I think.
>FOSS - Librera
hi, sorry to reply to such an old comment, but which version of Librera do you recommend? is it this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobnix.pdf.reader?
is the free one good?
I dont have PDF versions, I use libera reader
The book is in ebook format so any book reader would work, just search on the app store in your device.
>I messaged you.
Sorry, I don't use the official app so I dont really see chats.
Yes, you understood correctly. I have copied the entire Calibre Library folder to my ipad, and I was looking for an app that would allow me to display and read the books in my library, and allow me to search by the Calibre metadata.
What I really want is probably impossible, and that is to have an iOS version of Librera.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foobnix.pdf.reader
From the advanced features: Support for offline Calibre libraries (search, meta-data, covers)
So basically on my older android tablet, I just mirrored the calibre library folder, then after telling librera the path to that folder, it would extract the metatdata (I'm not 100% sure but I believe it uses the individual opf files for this as opposed to the full metadata.db), and now I can start typing anything in the search bar, and get as results all the books that contain that string in the title, or author, or series fields etc.
Sadly, your best bet may be mobile. (unless your eink reader has speakers or a headphone port - none of mine do). There's apps like Libera for mobile.

I started studying GED when I was around 15.
I have been studying on and off for the few years but let me tell you, I still remember how to do a lot of the things on maths, at least I have a rough idea so I wont be starting from scratch.
And as for the rest of the subjects its basically reading comprehension.
You have got a lot of time, read books now, it will increase your reading comprehension.
