a cheap UPS (~R800) will get you 20 to 30 minutes before dying.
and always check the schedule. ESP is not the best. load shedding notifier is. never fails me.
Have a look at this app that I have been using. It notifies you of load shedding that will take place and has schedules for most of South Africa. If your area isn't included you can contact the developer to get it added. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abisoft.loadsheddingnotifier
Currently using Load Shedding Notifier on the Play Store. The schedule is accurate to my municipality and uses the last updated schedule for that region. When load shedding hit today, the last updated schedules were used. The app still plugs into Eskom's website as well to tell you which schedule we're currently on.

I prefer Loadshedding Notifier. It's just laid out better. You dont have to go digging for your schedule. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abisoft.loadsheddingnotifier
