I don't mean to be a dick, but there's a difference between 'being a noob with modding', and not trying at all. Anyway, this icon pack seems to have the icon style (android 5 lollipop) you're after.
MaterialOS Icon Pack, very simple but consistent.
Otherwise I'm finding S60 Icon pack funny, back to the good old time.
Yes, I see what you mean. You might go ahead and download a Marshmallow-style icon pack that has a few more options. Maybe try this one:

Glad you liked it. :)
Personally, I don't use any icon pack, because I like the vanilla Android experience. But if I had to choose any kind of Icon pack I would go to icons that would be minimalistic/material/near-standard like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.materialos.icons
I went for a material approach on the patterns but I didn't get to implement a "shadow" system, so every icon-pack that looks material should look good with the Mosayq backgrounds. ;)
It was just my first idea. And I think that depends on the type of software you're talking about. for an application, 1 or 2 screenshots would be enough, but for theme's I'd want to see more than that. Maybe we can even have a standard set of program and icons to show for the themes. See the screenshots of this Android icon theme to see what I mean
It's MaterialOS. Available for free on the Play Store!
Running on Action Launcher 3's premium version.

I'm using "MaterialOS" for a couple non-Google icons, and using another pack called "Marshmallow Apex/Nova/Unicon" to get all the Google icons without their stupid, fucking infuriating little white circles.
Here is a .png of that Instagram icon I'm using (which is 1000x better than both the original and updated official icon).

I'm going for a very material theme, with dock and launcher matching the quick setting panel with a dark grey theme. To me, it feels more like stock Google than what Google actually ships.
I'm using Nova pro, with a couple of icon packs. I'm using "MaterialOS" for a couple non-Google icons. I particularly like their Instagram and Facebook Messenger icons. I'm also using another pack called "Marshmallow Apex/Nova/Unicon" to get all the Google icons without their stupid, fucking infuriating little white circles.
I keep this same setup and theme consistent across my Chromebook Pixel and desktop setup.
