Hi,
I used MobiLock Kiosk Lockdown Basic for a project some time ago and it worked very great. Simple and functionnal.
Might suit your needs.
Have a great day
lol we did this! The initial version was taking apart old Windows laptops, putting them in a shadowbox, installing outlook, loading up the room calendar in full screen mode from within Chrome with an automatic refresh. Problem with this was they were large and needed a power source.
The final product was cheap $70 android tablets that we could root to use a specific software that locked down the tablet to only allow certain applications to open and locked the user from changing settings. Then we found another app that was able to connect to an exchange server and synced with the room calendar. It had options to show the calendar by day, hour, or by meeting. Users could even push buttons on the application to schedule the room real-time from the tablet.
To power the devices we put these devices up: http://www.amazon.com/WS-POE-5v-10w-Extender-Ethernet-Wanscam-Injectors/dp/B00DAMKQWW - note I had to re-do the power cable due to it not being the right sized barrel. Got a new DC jack from digikey and called it good.
total cost per room with devices and licensing about $100 + time running network cable for power injectors.
Edit: Not in the office now to get the software we used but here's something similar.
