No plans currently in the works to convert the app to be compatible with androids. Sorry about that. This app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myhomeowork&hl=en_US), which also has an iOS version, is quite good however and provides a lot of the essential functionalities you would want out of a homework organizer.
The biggest difference between my app and this one is that mine focuses on long term improvement, seeing what you week looks like over the course of a year and adapting your study schedule to best accommodate for that.

I use myHomework. I think I had to pay to get it to sync to my computer, but the android app is free and I really love it. It syncs to the web browser though, not the OS, but it definitely works on OS X
/u/chumsalmon98 Just wanna add on to what has been said on time management. If you find yourself deviating from a good and concrete study plan, use an app to automate it. They call these apps student planners.
I use this app for Android to have it automatically populate a list of tasks. These tasks can be things like "Read textbook for X module" or "Do tutorial for X module" or "Do up notes for X module".
I essentially outsource all the discipline and planning to the app. Any time I've completed a task or feel uneasy for slacking off, I open it up and see what's next. If there's something I can do on there, I will do it. Otherwise, I will continue resting.
I use MyHomework because of the color coding and simplicity of the widget. Also, adding several tasks for the same class is super fast.

I wish my teachers used something besides Blackboard... They don't even use the calendar on there! :(
Using Google drive to collaborate on projects was huge in college for me. For taking large class notes I don't recommend something like Google Keep. I would either use Google docs or even a full-fledged note-taking app like Microsoft OneNote. Google calendar was great so there was no excuse for missing classes or meetings.
Definitely get Google drive or something comparable as a desktop application on your computer so everything you create can be already backed up in a cloud. I knew a guy whose computer caught on fire right before finals week and had no kind of backup. Don't be that guy.
I use this app to keep track of my homework which was great. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myhomeowork
GroupMe would be good to communicate with project groups, you can make little polls and stuff. The program called Doodle was very helpful to find out when everyone was available to meet.
At the end of the day all this is useless if you don't have the discipline to make it happen. Good luck and make sure you enjoy the experience too.
Thanks for the recommendation but I downloaded like 10 different planner apps and settled on myHomework student planner. It hits every point I need including repeating assignments!

I know this is kinda late, but just wanted to share what I’ve used over the last four years. It’s an app called myHomework, available on both the App Store and the Play Store. I’ve never forgotten an assignment, quiz, or exam because of this app and I highly recommend it!
I know my recommendation is similar to Power Planner, but just wanted to share what I’ve used over the last four years. It’s an app called myHomework, available on both the App Store and the Play Store. I’ve never forgotten an assignment, quiz, or exam because of this app and I highly recommend it. It doesn’t matter why implementation you use, you are always going to have to input a lot of data. But it’s fairly easy once you set up your classes. Good luck!
Edit: screen shot is old but you’ll get the idea
Does the school website have a link that says export to ICS / iCal / CSV? If so, on desktop go Google Calendar - other calenders on the bottom left - import calender and either upload the file there or try add by url if that fails.
If it does not when I started Uni every semester I would grab a fancy coffee, the PDFs or print outs of all my my syllabuses and the school website and spend about half a hour at the library entering it all in. For Google I added an event went into more options and set the repeating stuff. Then skipped to random holidays I had off and erased only that one event.
I also added the teacher info, class location and link to PDF of syllabus in the notes. Turning on remainders for the first week can get you texts / emails of class in Science Building, Chem Hall, room 427-c until you memorize it.
I also had a floating weekly to-do task to organize later with readings / assignments due listed in the description. Generally it was reorganized closer. MyHomework Student Planner and My Study Life are also options. I also suggest any GIANT projects have reminders a few weeks before to start planning and working on them. Here's a schedule for most large essays.
EDIT: Whatever you do try to have some kinda CHECKLIST if you can. It makes things easier. I literally just copy and pasted from the PDFs with no formatting and had mine taped to the back page of my school notebooks.
I used this which was quite good.
I use MyHomework
