It's even easier than people say. I've used 2 different apps.
1.- No Lock. Old, but it works.
2.- A Lock Block. New, it works too and got a notification if disabled.
Manually disabling lock screen using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock stopped working on 6.0.
I know there are plenty of apps for a "smart" control of locking (based on wifi/gps/voice etc.), but the manual way was the only reliable one for me. If anyone knows a solution for this that works on 6.0 please share.
I thank Power Toggles has this option. Not sure of it requires root or not.
Also, this app works great. I used to use its intents to automate the process through Tasker when secure settings stopped working on lollipop.

Another forum suggested using this app or something similar to get rid of the lock.
Found a fix with an app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock
Have you tried No Lock? I've used that with success on older Android releases.
