It looks like some data is in the barcode, but different data is the chip itself, that requires a PIN to get to. At least according to this page, which may be full of shit.

If you really want to be nosy, use any app that reads a PDF417 bar code to see what's actually in the barcode itself. I would strongly advise against using CACscan itself, but there are many other barcode reader software tools out there that can show you what information you are displaying on that barcode.

If you really want to dive into it, grab an app that can read ID barcodes (e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.pdf417&hl=en_CA) and compare the contents with what you're entering (you'll have to sift through a bunch of weird labels, but it's clear enough what goes where). Though I wouldn't actually recommend people do this since you shouldn't trust arbitrary scanning apps not to send your personal info as telemetry.
