There's a cool app on Google play called "Pixelbomb" for this. (This comment was not sponsored by or otherwise endorsed by "Mushroom house™")
You could try this: Pixelbomb
I've found this pixel sorting glitch art app thing way back in /r/androidapps . It works.
No need to apologize. This effect is a pixel sort, which takes segments of pixels that are in a certain brightness threshold and rearranges them according to brightness. Kim Asendorf pioneered this technique, and I used his algorithms to come up with my own, which I ported to Renderscript (a type of C code that runs on Android) and built an app around.
You can get the app here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mushroomhouse.pixelbomb.free but it may not be available on your device. I haven't updated the app in over a year.
If you use the app and have any trouble with it, let me know. I probably won't be submitting any more bugfixes but I can help you learn how to use it if it interests you.
Try PixelBomb
EDIT: sorry I read only now that you are on iPhone.
