It's gonna sound stupid but I use an app that helps me concentrate on my breathing. I try not to take them but I won't be caught without my xanex (is my prescription) and I take an anti depressant everyday. Those have helped me a lot. You need to tall to a doctor of some sorts. I still get panicky several times a day for no reason but I have tools to help me through it now. Good luck, there are a lot of us in your boat even if it seems like you're all alone. Edit: I use an app like this only the non free version. Don't waste your money though. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saagara.universalpranayamafree
There is an app (funnily enough) called Pranayama (and a paid version which you can customise a lot more) which I found years ago which can give you audio and visual feedback on the breathing cycles. I found it was very useful for the timing (rhythm) of it all. As for how full? Very full but not painfully full would be my best suggestion from my experience.
This is the Android (Free) version - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saagara.universalpranayamafree
Healthy distractions.
Sleep. Binge a show. Breathing exercises--there's a really good yogic breathing for smartphones called "Pranayama" there's a good free version. Game. Read.
I use a similar app (Android, and may exist in IOS) called Pranayama

I started with the free version (works great) but upgraded to the paid version as it gave me more control over the timing of what I wanted to do.
Although these days, I mostly use "prayer beads" and internal timing - but the app helped get the practice fairly solid without having to think about timing.
Yes. There is a free and paid version.
