Yes they have an app called Prime Photos ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.clouddrive.photos ) which is similar to Google Photos. It can recognize faces etc. And it's max quality
I've posted this in other threads, but I'll do it again....
If you have an Amazon Prime membership, Amazon Photos is an included service. Amazon will backup your original quality photos for free. I have both Google Photos and Amazon Photos on my phone and both sync my photos to their respecitve clouds. If I ever need to pull an original quality photo for editing or printing, I do it from Amazon. If I'm just browsing, I just Google Photos.
Is it a Google product, no.
Is it a "free" original quality photo backup that works seamlessly alongside Google Photos? Yes.
Yeah, Amazon photos:

Just for example, I've got about 27,000 photos and videos on there. The interface is not quite as nice as Google photos but it is cheaper. Especially so if you just use the free photos that come with prime membership.
Enjoy!
Another suggestion would be to store your photos on Amazon. If you're Amazon prime member, they offer this service for free. There is an Amazon photo app that syncs your pictures in the app store.
Prime members get unlimited, full-resolution photo storage and 5 GB video storage, plus they get free prints delivery for a lifetime of memories.
Amazon Photos app. Does it automatically, just like Google photos
Amazon prime has UNLIMITED, FULL RESOLUTION backup for photos only.

Use the amazon photo app
Search play store for Amazon Photos. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.clouddrive.photos
btw is prime photos available in India? If it is then I think even the 999 price point is justified.
